X17 XCLUSIVE - Lindsay Parties Hardy With Akon!

Posted on Sun Oct 4, 2009 11:25 AM PDT

Does this girl ever sleep???

LiLo took a break from her new fashion adviser position to party at the VIP Room in Paris last night with Akon - her BFF Patrick also stayed by her side, and it looks like he was needed to help her walk straight! One too many, er, Red Bulls Lindz?

A French photographer on the scene tells X17online.com exclusively, "Lindsay looked like she had been enjoying partying. She and Akon definitely seemed to be flirting. I thought she was gay but you couldn't tell at all - it looked like she was really into this rapper!"

Seriously? I know LiLo isn't really bothering with the acting thing anymore, but must she continue to ruin her what's left of her reputation by drinking openly in clubs?

The photog also said, "Lindsay loves Paris and when she comes here, she loses all inhibitions. She was just going crazy and having fun like any young girl. I wonder what Samantha Ronson would think!"

I think Sam's over it.

I actually wish someone would go by her and pull her top off through her boob hole. She'd deserve it. What's the sense of wearing a top/shirt anyway?

Akon was there. This was from a few nights ago. However that gentleman she is with was her bodyguard. Apparently she hung with Karl's gay posse the whole night. So by X17 not knowing the date, we now know they are making up the french photog too. Priceless as X17 continues their Lohan hatefest.

@mrjoezee (creative director, Elle magazine): Bright colors, heart motifs & supershort dresses at Ungaro, with some requiring a swimsuit underneath. For paparazzi precaution of course.

Posted by: Anonymous

@Fashionista_com (fashion blog): What did Lindsay Lohan do to the House of Ungaro?

Posted by: Anonymous

@BinkleyOnStyle (WSJ On Style columnist): Ungaro; pink. Party. Little sleezy. Disco. Hearts. Jeans’cur slacks, tight, with hearts on butt.

Posted by: Anonymous

That pic is not even akon. Maybe your french photop thinks all black guys look alike and couldnt tell the difference, what a pathetic site you are becoming.

@womensweardaily (Women’s Wear Daily): At Ungaro, Lindsay-plus-one experiment is off to a troubled start

Posted by: Anonymous

@_BoF_ (fashion blog): Lindsay Lohan’s outing at Ungaro today is widely panned by the fashion pack. Yet another bad move for a once leading fashion house.

Posted by: Anonymous

X17 apparently can't tell one black man from the next. How pathetic. Checked on other sites and it took me 2 minutes to find that person was her bodyguard with photos of her taking her inside to the event. Anyways I am wondering more about the ring on her wedding finger.

Tim Gunn on Lohan: Is Ungaro’s Board of Directors Smoking Crack?

Christian Siriano’s beaming Project Runway mentors Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia stopped smiling when we asked each for their opinion on Emanuel Ungaro’s controversial hiring of Lindsay Lohan as “artistic advisor.” “I have no comment,” Garcia said firmly. But then, without any prompting, she commented anyhow: “But I have to say that Esteban Cortazar is a big loss for them. I love Esteban, he’s extremely talented, and I’m just very surprised about that.”

The affable Mr. Gunn took the same tack when we broached the subject. “Could I not comment?” he asked politely. “Of course,” we replied as Gunn pursed his lips, looked directly at us, and while not uttering a word into our whirring tape recorder, emphatically shook his head in disbelief. But then Tim, too, felt too strongly to hold his tongue. “It’s got to be a publicity stunt!” he blurted. “Or a crack-smoking board of directors?”

Too pitiful to comment on. Bottom of the barrel.

Paris Fashion Week: Lindsay Lohan's first Emanuel Ungaro collection is a walk of shame
October 4, 2009

It was a deadly collision of celebrity culture and fashion culture on Sunday at the debut of the new Emanuel Ungaro collection with Lindsay Lohan as artistic advisor and Estrella Archs as designer. When Lohan came out for a runway bow, her eyes were full of tears. And it's easy to see why. After all the hullabaloo over her appointment a month ago, with some fashion insiders suggesting it was an insult to anyone who had ever really worked in design, it had to have been the walk of shame to end all.

Posted by: latimes.com

The fashion crowd is a tough one, and the fangs were out for this collection from the beginning. Unfortunately, the clothes--reportedly whipped together in a mere three weeks -- didn't do anything to defy low expectations.

It's difficult to know whom to blame -- Lohan for taking the job or Ungaro President Mounir Moufarrige for thinking he could install a troubled Hollywood starlet with no fashion training at a venerable French house (even one that cycles through designers faster than Lohan cycles through rehab stints). Or maybe it's the fault of the industry in general, which has put a premium on fast, flashy and addictive fashion, over forward-thinking and creative fashion.

Posted by: latimes.com

The impulse to focus on the house's signature shade of hot pink was a good one, and that's how the collection began, with a tight minidress draped over one shoulder. There were a lot of minidresses in this show, many of them so short, they seemed to be inviting a TMZ crotch shot.

The second design element was the heart, in a repeating sequin pattern on one jacket and repeating cutouts with sequins peeking out from underneath on another. These were partytime clothes -- ruched leggings in bright blue and purple (Lohan has her own line of leggings too -- 6126), pink harem pants and bandeau bikini tops with heart-shaped charms nestled between the breasts.

Posted by: latimes.com

But by far the worst offense were the glittery heart-shaped pasties worn under suit jackets. In a word, why? They were just begging to be laughed at. A larger version of the heart pasties also turned up on some of the models' heads.

Nothing in the collection evidenced any real skill or discernible design work. In fact, you could probably find a lot of it already on the shelves at Kitson. I did hear someone remark that they liked the shoes, which had narrow, stair-step heels.

Still, there's really no defending this misguided collection, other than as a desperate bid for attention from a house that hasn't mattered since its founder retired in 2004. I just don't think it's the kind of attention they had in mind. -- Booth Moore

Bad complexion, sagging boobs, balding and an appearance looking older than she is.

Posted by: Anonymous

She looks disgusting - worn, beat, loose fitting top with no bra, hanging out all over, front, side - those don't constitute shorts, they are more like black leather boy short panties and they're laced up the side to boot, Soooo classy and she is definitely either drunk or on drugs or both, Is she on anti-depressants by any chance and chasing them with booze cuz that would explain the mood swings, Look at her laughing, crying etc. - Esteban Cortazar must be laughing his ass off at this mess -

Posted by: Anonymous

Ungaro is getting hundreds (if not thousands) of news articles in papers, mags and the internet tomorrow - worldwide

Posted by: Anonymous

I'm surprised she isn't wearing her audition kneepads out. She obviously needs them to maintain a constant state of readiness. Good to hear the substance abuse junkie is continuing with her partying ways. Failed rehabbers are such a commodity. At least some people (liars) would have you believe this.

UMGAGARO

Posted by: reuters.com

PARIS (Reuters Life!) - Lindsay Lohan lived up to her reputation as Hollywood's party girl with a debut collection for Parisian fashion house Emanuel Ungaro on Sunday, showing super-short pink dresses and blazers worn over bare skin.

Dressed in a white mini dress and red stiletto heels, the actress sparked a paparazzi frenzy at the Louvre museum where the show was held, creating exactly the kind of buzz executives at Ungaro had been hoping for.

Fashion critics, however, looked aghast at Lohan's bra tops and stripper-inspired nipple pasties.

Posted by: Anonymous

"The best that can be said is that they tried," commented Hilary Alexander, fashion director at the Daily Telegraph

Posted by: Anonymous

It's Emanuel UNGARO, bitches!

Posted by: "embarrassment"

WWD called the collection, designed by Estrella Archs, a complete "embarrassment." They also said, "As for the clothes, they looked cheesy and dated, as has often been the case during chez Ungaro’s post-Emanuel revolving door of designers. Hot pink, orange and flashy, with an overworked heart motif relentless in its execution, the collection displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver. Nor in a million years would one guess that the lineup was designed by one young woman and 'creative directed' by another. Glitter heart pasties all around, ladies? For Lohan, she’ll weather the criticism, hardly her first or her juiciest, and move on when her contract allows. But Archs has her work cut out for her. Backstage after the show, she said the collection 'had to be designed very quickly.' Perhaps that was the problem. This storied house has been in disarray for years, and though Archs’ debut provided no indication that she’s up to the challenge, she should be given the chance to find out without a younger, non-skilled judge with theoretical veto power hovering about."

Hearts but No Soul
By SUZY MENKES
Published: October 4, 2009

PARIS — The Emanuel Ungaro show on Sunday may go down in history as the final gasp of celebrity madness. A battery of lenses focused on the finale, when Lindsay Lohan, Hollywood star, music maker and current bad girl, walked the runway, blonde hair swishing, as the brand’s new creative director. Beside her was the Spanish designer Estrella Archs, who had the unenviable task of getting this collection ready in just three weeks to walk the shocking-pink runway.

A wave of scarlet hearts appeared as rounded handbags, as vivid prints or as the broken-heart scarlet lapels of a black tailored jacket. There were some good things to say about the show. For a start, there were not as many of the visible bras that have been out there on other catwalks. But that was because there were often no bras at all — only wardrobe malfunctions, bits of black masking tape or sequined pasties popping from jackets tricked out with hearts.

Posted by: newyorktimes.com

This was certainly a sweetheart moment. A Saint Valentine wave of scarlet hearts appeared as rounded handbags, as vivid prints or as the broken-heart scarlet lapels of a black tailored jacket. Or they were stuck anywhere from forehead to bustier and even used as a cut-out motif on a jacket, where sequins peeked through the gaps.

Otherwise, there were short skirts. And even shorter skirts. One hemline revealed the curvy derrière that paparazzi might hope to snap in a downtown club — but not what you would expect on a sophisticated catwalk. The faintest whiff of the East brought soft harem pants and dresses that draped the models’ skinny bodies.

Emanuel Ungaro was a couture king of drape and shape. When a swathe of white dress was covered with a white fur stole, there was some attempt to move from teen night out to a couture elegance. Yet will this collection of hearts but with no soul be enough to entice young women who could probably find these looks anywhere?

Posted by: Anonymous

Disaster waiting to happen Arabs who bought Ungaro were only ones that did not see it coming.

Posted by: Anonymous

Why wasn't she wearing her ridiculous Ungaro heart pasties???

Posted by: torontostar.com

The critics at WWD.com were not kind, calling the collection an embarrassment – "cheesy and dated"– a train wreck involving fashion, a controversial celebrity and massive publicity, adding, "Lindsay, it's time to get serious about reviving the acting career."

Madonna v Lohan for Ungaro role!

The fashion world hasn’t exactly embraced Lindsay Lohan in her new role as ‘artistic adviser’ of Emanuel Ungaro – it’s allegedly one of the reasons former head designer Esteban Cortazar left the house last month. But it looks like the young starlet fought off tough competition to win her role. Mounir Moufarrige, the president of Emanuel Ungaro, has revealed he met five celebrities before picking LiLo, including Madonna and Paris Hilton. [AP]

Five questions for Tim Gunn
Carolyne Zinko, Chronicle Staff Writer
Sunday, October 4, 2009

Q: The French fashion house of Ungaro, owned by a Bay Area couple, hired Lindsay Lohan as its new creative muse. What did you think of her as a guest judge on the first episode of the new season?

A: She demonstrated a depth of knowledge I didn't know she possessed. Does that mean she should be a creative director of a venerable brand? No. I'm stunned. But I do believe she was an excellent guest judge.

Posted by: Anonymous

Folks have already exposed x17 bullshit story about Akon so I won't go there except to say it's none of Samro's business who Linds goes out with.

Anyhow, as usual the haters post the most negative comments; there were mixed reviews . What is importantis that the strategy worked of having a celebrity on board as shown by the barrage of press after the show.

To be fair to the designer, not much could be expected after a mere 3 wks to prepare! Maybe with time they will get a signature look together.

So who hates Lohan more. Catty women or catty gay men. It all seems to be about women and gay men who can't get laid hating on a woman who can:)

Obviously the intention was to create buzz, but the real result was a succession of dull party dresses, pasties and heart prints—and body parts nearly bouncing out (in the lewd way, not in the good way). It was pinky but not panky, and honestly not good enough to be part of the official Paris calendar. Worse still, a reliable source tells us that Lindsay, the day before the show, spent her time shopping at Dior and YSL and presented the bill to Ungaro. And then, after a hard day of shopping, she had a wild night and canceled an interview with Suzy Menkes. Do one refuse an audience with the pope because of a hangover? She did.

Paris Fashion Week: Emanuel Ungaro S/S 10
October 4, 2009 by Ashley Shute

Today was the day. Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Archs rushed Spring / Summer 2010 Ungaro collection hit the runway in Paris. Were we going to see a splash of youthful designs that would make all tweens, teens, and twenty -somethings run as fast as they can to Ungaro to pick up the pieces? Critics and fans alike are sadly saying no. The collection was overly dated and in my opinion, really showed the bad side of Lindsay Lohan’s “creative” styling. Lindsay can put together a great outfit, but she can also put together the less desirable look (a la bandeau bras and tapered pants that just don’t work). In support of those few times Lohan looks put together here are a few of the highlights (not low lights!) of the Spring / Summer 2010 runway show.

THE LOSERS WHO APE WHAT OTHER LOSERS SAY ON THEIR BLOGS/POSTS ARE AT IT AGAIN, I SEE!

FIRST,THE UNGARO SHOW WAS A SUCCESS AS FAR AS THE OBJECTIVE OF LIFTING THE PROFILE OF THE BRAND AMONG YOUTH IS CONCERNED. WHO AMONG U DUMB HATERS HAD EVER HEARD OF UNGARO BEFORE LILO'S CONNECTION TO THE FASHION HOUSE?

SECOND, ALL THE HOMO DESIGNERS AND THEIR FREINDS (BUYERS, REPORTERS, GOSSIP SITES LIKE PEREZ, DLISTED) WERE UP IN ARMS ABOUT LILO'S APPOINTMENT FROM THE OUTSET, BECAUSE UNLIKE THE LOSERS ON HERE THEY KNEW THE VALUE OF LILO'S ATTACHMENT TO A FASHIOM HOUSE LIKE UNGARO.

THIRDLY,LILO DID NOT DESIGN THE CLOTHES; ESTELLA THE DESIGNER DID. IN FAIRNESS TO HER SHE HAD ONLY THREE WEEKS IN WHICH TO DO SO ;IT WAS NOT EXPECTED BY UNGARO OR FASHION INDUSTRY EXPERTS THAT THE SHOW WOULD BE OUTSTANDING AS A RESULT. THE FAIRMINDED REPORTS, BLOGS POINT THIS OUT AND LOOK FOWARD TO A BETTER SHOW NEXT YEAR. THE BITCHY HOMO-LOVIN REVIEWS DO NOT MAKE THIS POINT.

LASTLY, SOME OF THE CLOTHES WON PRAISE FROM KNOWLEDGEABLE CRITICS; THIS IS A YOUNG DESIGNER WITH A YOUNG ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AND NO DOUBT THEY'LL DO BETTER NEXT YEAR. I'M SURE THE OWNER OF UNGARO IS VERY HAPPY ABOUT THE PRESS FROM NEW QUARTERS WHICH WILL PRODUCE THE NEW MARKET HE'S LOOKING FOR THE YOUTH WHO FAITHFULLY FOLLOW LILO ON THESE WEB SITES!!

He got publicity alright. Bad publicity. Ungaro was a favorite of well-heeled women worldwide. It’s current Spring Ready-to-Wear collection looks like something that should be hanging in a discount department store catering to hookers.

Time will tell as with all things, but I'm betting that this venture with Linds will be successful for UNGARO. It was a bold foward thinking move to hire a celebrity to widen the old fashion house's market and lift its profile and the venture did just that.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if other fashion houses adopt the same strategy in the near future. As is usual with anything new, there are always backbiters and nay-sayers. Add to that the vile attacks on LILOthat people feel they're entitled to, and that explains the whole hullabuloo.

The haters also said her leggings would fail, the tanning peoduct would bomb, and the beat goes on....When would losers from all spheres of life learn not to hate ,but apprecite?

And no folks, I'm not LILO's mother. Just a fan. I could never be that uncaring about my own or anyone else's offspring. So no thanks....

Posted by: Anonymous

4:12/4:13 LOL!

Kurt and Courtney’s daughter, Frances Bean is developing an edgy, urban style. She’s still very young but would have been a better choice to revive a failing fashion house.

The House of Ungaro has been losing money since Emanuel retired. Luxury goods are feeling the full impact of the recession. And the new creative vision looks like a nightmare. It wouldn't surprise me if Ungaro filed for bankruptcy protection after the next show.
