It’s hard for me to understand why Lindsay’s trip to India is still being debated. The undeniable fact is she tried to take credit for a joint NGO and government rescue operation that required months of planning and skilled execution. An operation in which she had no part. The NGO has lambasted her for making it appear she had a role in their efforts and trivializing the rescue as one day’s work.

As for Haiti, if Michael Lohan and his group step out of line, they will be escorted to the airport. This is serious work and not the time or place for dilettantes in need of image rehab. In other words, Haiti needs problem solvers not additional problems.

Spurred by actor George Clooney and MTV, 11 broadcast and cable television networks have signed on to air a two-hour telethon Friday that will benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti.

"Hope for Haiti," will air commercial-free at 8 p.m. on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT.

The event, which will raise money for five relief organizations working in the ravaged country, will be hosted by Clooney in Los Angeles, singer Wyclef Jean in New York and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper in Haiti.
