Lionel is crap. Obviously he was not there for his daughter. She was out partying all night and using drugs when she was 13 or so! Where was Brenda (Lionels first wife and Nicoles "mother")? He doesn't know what is going on with Nicole. Nicole is lost and so is he. He left his wife of over 20 years to be with trash and now that trash ends up being a criminal and they get divorced. Lionel is a nutcase. He's always smiling and being phony for the cameras. I think he is a nice guy but he's just lost. He really doesn't know what's going on with his kids.

You are being ignorant. I was just stating my opinion of Lionel. The facts are there if anyone wants to look them up. Lionel was not there for Nicole when she was growing up. He will say that. He said it on Oprah. He even admitted to himself that some of his problems may be his fault. I didn't say he wasn't a nice guy. I love Lionels music but he really was not a great dad. Perhaps he's trying to be now.
Also, how can I hate my own people?? I'd have to hate myself and I love my people and myself thank you! This has NOTHING to do with race.

I didn't say they didn't do a wonderful thing by adopting/raising Nicole. They are clearly wonderful people. I also know that Lionel had to 'work' and be on the road. I'm a parent so I know that parenting is not easy for anyone. However, to have your 13 year old out in clubs and out using drugs and drinking all times of the night is truly terrible parenting. That's when you call off the tour and you get your butt home and be a father! Anyway, Nicole is an adult now and the past is the past. He admitted his mistakes. Perhaps he's being a great father now and hopefully he will be a great grandfather.
Also, I have no chip on my shoulder. I just speak the truth. I also know darned well that all white people are not the same. I live around wonderful white people and have white friends and have been friends with these people forever--since I was a kid. Still, I KNOW there are some white people who are just as I described. They will smile in your face and sing Kum bah yah and then call you the 'n' word when they are in the privacy of their homes or over the anonymous net. Give me a break. As a white person you surely know these types of people exist as well. Don't pretend they do not. Anyway, who cares? This got off topic.

I respect everyone point of view... But this is more a metter of love, morals and principals then racism... Everything in life have a cost... I'm sure he is paying a very high cost for his mistakes.. But who are we to judge his actions??? .... We all make mistakes... No meter how good you think you are with your parenting skills you still don't really know your kid... The past can not be changed but the future can be controle. We all have chances to fix our mistakes... I'm sure he will do all he can to make it up to Nicole and her baby.. Alfter all he is a man with a very big heart and he does love his family and his career on his own ways....
