Lynne Spears Tells All On Today!

Britney's mom Lynne sat down to chat with Meredith Vieira on Wednesday's Today show and, of course, the two ladies discussed Brit, parenting and fame...
"There was that honeymoon period where it looked like she could do no wrong," Lynne explains. "Then there's that ugly side of fame... and we weren't ready for that."
Lynne denies she was ever a stage mom, insisting that "Britney pushed me." She adds: "She's out there, she's with the crowds and with her peer groups, and she's doing things - she's a celebrity, for heaven's sake!"
And what about that famed Rolling Stone cover of Britney with the Teletubby in '99? "We didn't really know what we were doing," Lynne admits. "I never even bought [Rolling Stone], but I just heard this is a really big deal."
Finally, Meredith asks if Lynne would have done anything differently. The mother of three responds: "Shoulda, woulda, coulda."

In this second half of the interview - video below! - Lynne talks about Jamie Lynn, who recently gave birth to her own daughter, Maddie...
Apparently, Jamie Lynn called her mom home one day (with boyfriend Casey Aldridge by her side). "She hands me a note and tells me to go into the bedroom and read it," Lynne reveals.
The note said she was pregnant. "I thought it was a joke," says Lynne. "I kept waiting for the punch line."
Then, when Casey wouldn't look at Lynne, she knew it wasn't a joke. What did Jamie Lynn's mom then do? "I was in shock... and then I started to cry. And then she [Jamie Lynn] started consoling me at that point," Lynne says.
Did she feel like it was her fault? "As a mother," Lynne explains, "don't we always blame ourselves? I took a lot of the blame. I took all the blame."

I just watched the whole interview. I;m sorry, but the entire Spears family are nothing but stupid hillbillies. Lynn is a moron who sold herdaughter out for money and fame. And now she wants sympathy for doing so.

The whole interview it was like she just wanted people to feel sorry for her and pity her. She didn't even take responsibility for not being there for britney. i had to laugh when she said the media has been too hard on britney, especially when asked about last years VMA performance. She said if it had been someone else the reaction would not have been the same. Hey lady wake up - your daughter did everything she could to attract media attention, both good and bad. She and you have no one to blame but yourselves.
That was the most stupid comment that a mother could do. "... She started consoling me...". Stupid... The girl was only 16... Oh! Sorry, she started crying because she started thinking... "oh, all that money and you worthless daughter gets pregnant?" It's all about money!
Lynne denies she was ever a stage mom...but at the end of the interview, she says" Britney is fine..she's headed to the top once again!" Not Britney is happy, Britney is going to get her kids back, Britney isn't going to jump back into the fire. Lynne, we can all see what's important here, and it's the money and the stardom, not the girl's well-being. That's what this book is about too. MORE MONEY FOR LYNNE.

Spears' paternal grandmother, Emma Jean Spears, in June 1966 committed suicide at age 31. Britney's grandmother, who suffered from depression, shot herself in the chest with a shotgun at the grave of her infant son who had died eight years earlier, just three days after being born. A local newspaper reported at the time: "The shotgun had been pressed against the woman’s chest and she apparently pulled the trigger with a toe of the right foot from which a shoe had been removed."
Actually, what Lynne Spears doesn’t understand is that it actually was just a joke. Jamie Lynn Spears - notorious prankster that she is - had in fact written the following on the back of the note:
“Punk’d! I totally just punk’d you mom. Of course I’d never get pregnant! I’m only 16 and wouldn’t dream of having sex, especially with this stupid-faced idiot. I mean, look at him. He looks like the product of decades of institutionalised incest. This couldn’t possibly be anything but a ridiculous joke.”
However, Lynne Spears took the news so badly with all the tears and the self-blame that Jamie Lynn Spears decided that, rather than admit to the joke and confuse her mother any further, she’d go and immediately get pregnant anyway, even though it’d ruin the rest of her life.
Oh Lynne Spears, if only you’d have turned the note over, life would have been so very different. Mostly in that we wouldn’t have had to keep writing about your sodding book all the bloody time.
