Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been granted a preliminary divorce decree by a London court, says the Daily Mail.

Madonna petitioned for the divorce, citing "unreasonable behavior" as the reason for the split.

Neither were in court for the brief session listed on court records as "Ciccone M L v Ritchie G S." The divorce can become final after six weeks and one day.

Various British media have reported unconfirmed stories that the couple had reached a settlement that would allow Madonna keep the majority of her estimated $445 million fortune and share custody with Ritchie of their two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

Madonna and Ritchie announced last month they were divorcing. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre estate in the English countryside.

Madge is obviously suffering through her divorce with Guy ... I mean, how else can you explain this horrendous fashion faux pas. Oh, of course the excuse could be that Gucci threw that rug her way and made her wear it on their red carpet last night? -- That's probably it.

Divorce proceedings are scheduled to start Friday for Madonna and Guy Ritchie in the UK, according to Reuters.

The case is listed in London's High Court as "Ciccone M L v Ritchie G S" in the family division.

Both are entitled to attend the court, but neither Madge nor Guy is expected to show up.

After an initial divorce decree is issued, the split will be finalized in about six weeks.

It's expected that Guy will not accept any financial settlement from Madonna, but that the two will share custody of their sons, Rocco and David.

Maybe this one isn't going to be as ugly as we thought!

As if she really needs the money or the free bags they're undoubtedly going to give her, but Madonna is being paid $10 million to be the new face of Louis Vuitton!

According to Page Six, the material girl will be a part of the company's 2009 marketing campaign, and Women's Wear Daily reports that Steven Meisel, who shot the pics for Madonna's infamous 1992 book, "Sex" will shoot the ad campaign. Madonna was spotted chatting with Louis Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs at the Chateau Marmont last weekend, presumably discussing the clothing and the upcoming shoot.

We can't wait to see these shots! And we can't wait to see what kind of loot LV is going to give her! She's one lucky star.

First Miley, now Madonna!

We rarely see the pop icon looking so glam - whether she's shooting a vid or visiting the Kabbalah Center - so this must've been a special occasion!

She's not looking as glamorous here as the last time we saw her at the Kabbalah Center, but then again Madonna never looks too shabby!

We just miss that fire truck-red lipstick. So hot right now.

And just look at little Lourdes! All grown up in her Ghostbusters shirt. Think mom had any influence on her fashion sense? We don't doubt it!

The groove being gymnastics, not dancing - then again, we wouldn't be surprised if Madonna's little girl was taking dancing and singing lessons too! The material daughter went to Rhythmic Gymnastics Center in Los Angeles yesterday with her daddy, Carlos Leon, and the two got smoothies and Pinkberry afterwards. Little Lourdes sure is growing up fast!

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes went to the Kabbalah Center in Hollywood last night, and we're pretty amazed at how well the material girl cleaned up! Her 50-year-old face looks remarkably fresh and her bright red lipstick is perfectly applied - no Christina Aguilera style problems here!

We caught Madonna arriving at a video shoot in Los Feliz just a few hours ago, and it looks like the queen of pop worked up quite a sweat! Think the material girl was dancing her butt off or doing some crazy stunts? Guess we'll have to wait a few weeks to find out what exactly she was doing in there!

Madonna's following in Oprah's footsteps, by raising money to build a school for girls in Africa.

Madonna announced plans for "The Raising Malawi Academy For Girls" on her website.

"After witnessing the potential of Malawi's girls firsthand, I made it my mission to give them an opportunity to become their personal best. I hope you will share my urgency and make a donation today. Every donation counts toward helping impoverished girls to reach their full potential. And every dollar will make a difference," Madonna writes.

Madonna has set up a website, raisingmalawi.org to help raise funds for the project.

Madonna is still in Los Angeles, and last night she went to dinner with the Beckhams at Nobu. As the pop queen left the trendy West Hollywood eatery, we snapped her texting away in the backseat. Hmmm, think she's booty calling texting her lover, Alex Rodriguez?

Madonna and A-Rod were both in LA last week, but they were never spotted out together...course, that doesn't mean they didn't find a way to hook up!

Alex was staying at Madge's BFF and manager Guy Oseary's house, while Madonna was at her Beverly Hills Mansion. So when they wanted to see each other, we think Guy simply smuggled A-Rod into the Material Girl's house in his car!

They're both on their way to getting a divorce, so why are they going to such great lengths to hide their relationship?

And this weekend, they left for Vegas within just hours of each other. Think it's easier to sneak in the back door of a Vegas hotel than her house?

Lotsa stuff happening in Hollywood over the weekend!

First off, there was Jen Aniston craving attention at The Ivy, of all places. (What's UP, Phoebe Price 2.0!) Then there was Madonna coughing her way out of the Kabbalah Center - this comes after performing with our girl Brit onstage Thursday night! We also spotted Posh Spice arriving back in LA, all covered up but still stylish...

And let's DEF not forget about Angelina Jolie walking the red carpet for the Kung Fu Panda DVD release party on Sunday with those long, slender legs.

But are they too skinny? Mmm, maybe!

Ok, he's really running out of the gym, where he declined to answer questions on whether or not he would follow his (apparent) lover to Vegas for her weekend show.
