Court Denies Madonna Adoption!!!

if she wants to help that child set up a trust fund for her... just b/c you're a celeb doesn't mean you have the right to do as you please...if you want to adopt a kid b/c you're in a midlife crisis and need attention then go to a country where to rules aren't so strict.

She is trying to do a good thing and I'll never take that away from her, but the court is right. If they allow this (again) they are opening up a path for human trafficking (past precedence). Also, it looks bad that the kid has so many living relatives, some willing to let the kid go, others not so much. If she found a "real" orphan doubt she would have so much bad PR. Still, it's sad.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANGELINA & MADONNA?

"central park east" is actually 5th Ave. and she was denied, black-balled from buying on 5th Ave. DENIED! she should be starting to get used to the idea.

For anyone to think that a child would have a "better' live in an orphanage in a third world country than in a a home (Madonna or other) should think twice.
I have visited them, at the end of the day an orphanage remains and orphanage no matter what.
By denying this adoption they will deter parents from wanting to adopt from that country. Living in a country for 18 months is not a safe guard, having a social worker supervise the adoption in the parent's home land before an adoption can be finalized would be a better option

Madonna, there are needy children HERE in the US that could be saved by your help. Why not look in your own back yard. The abuse of children in this country is rampant and I still cannot; DO NOT understand why for heavens sake these celebrities can't help out the forgotten, beaten, starved, caged, raped and mutilated children HERE. There is NEED everywhere in the world, but it was AMERICAN dollars that put Madonna in the lifestyle she lives in, why not give back by helping OUR children in need??

Thank God Madonna didn't get her way. She isn't very motherly. Just because she has money, that doesn't mean she will take good care of the child emotionally. Sure the kid will have better housing condition, food and even education. Emotional problem should never be ignored. Just because you move from Malawi to a rich woman's house doesn't mean it's happy ending. You will have new problems to worry about. The little girl has to deal with racism, having no privacy (Madonna will parade her around to let us see she "saved' a little girl), having a neurotic mother. Madonna will always remind her she owes the adoptive mother plenty. Mentally, it's not any better.

Great response britney. Although internation adoption is a wonderful thing, why do celebs think they have to adopt from another country so often? I am on the road to adopting as well, and while there are programs to adopt abroad- so many in America are waiting to be adopted as well.

I wonder if it is the exotic nature of adopting from another country? Thing is- there are so many children different races in America who could be adopted as well.

African American boys are the ones left waiting for adoption most in America. Sad but true. Many will stay in foster care their whole lives, and never have a permanent home. If celebrities think they need to travel to Africa to adopt, they are sadly mistaken. African boys are all around them that they do not have to have so much red tape to adopt- they just happen to be American as well. Maybe they weren't born in Africa, but if it the culture you are looking for- look at how strong black boys in America have needed to be for generations now. These children are deserving of a home just as much as overseas children. Just my .02 worth.
