I'm from Romania, and the gipsies are the reason why I would leave this country. The noise they make, the smell, the stealing (a gipsy stole my phone in the bus), the violence...they are FILTH.

citizen I have to say that gipsies are really difficult to deal with.Maybe you will come with a solution regarding them. Have them live in your country for a while. Disobedience of the law, criminality, beggars, burglars, everything that a civilized country is rejecting. Ask the Italian government, they are not from Eastern Europe. Ask the German and Austrian government about them. They will remember about them eating the Black Swans in Wien, and other, and other. Travel to Romania to these gipsy villages. Compare them with peasant villages. Richness built on hard working? Ask the people who have lived with. It is easy to blame but hard to deal with.

its not ROMA it is Rromni.I dont discriminate in general but sometimes beause of them and the lck of education ,us ,as romanians have a lot to deal with.In romania rromi have good lifes,they have the ifes that they want.If u ask a gispy to come to work for you, first hes going to ask you how much are going to pay him and then if the price is not bigger than he makes by just staying his going to refuse you.Im not saying that its not normal but a rrom makes a day throug his children sometimes the makes more than a regular person that works for a mounth(just in one day)...so before u judge it will be better to find the truth.Because , as Mircea said "it is easy to blame but hard to deal with".

they can get an education ,the educational system in Romania is free until the university,they JUST DON'T WANT TO STUDY.. and even at the university, every faculty has a certain number of places for gypsies that are FREE,only that are veeeeeery rarely occupied..i don't like racism,but everything the people wrote here about them it's true,i never met a single gypsy that was honest .also i don't know why they're named Roma,this brings a lot of confusion to people worldwide (considering that the name Roma is closed with Romania)..i am a romanian but i study in France now and i've met people who discriminated me because they thought that romanians are gypsies,someone even asked me "but what is the difference between gypsies and romanians"?they come from India,they have a different language than romanian,they have nothing in common with the romanian culture and it really bothers me when gypsies that live here go in Italy,Spain and other european countries,they steal,rape,kill people and us honest romanian people are being discriminated just because they say they come from Romania.Madonna should shut the hell up cuz there aren't the gypsies who are discriminated.

I am also from Romania. I was not at the concert (not a crowd fan), and I tell you whay M was booed: here a gipsy equals thieve, pick-pockets, dirt, lying, cunning, violent, opulent, danger for others. If she would live here for a few months, and not in 5* hotels, she would learn not to keep discrimination lessons to a country whose citizens are being discriminated themselves by the fault and the problems caused by the gipsies with Romanian citizenship. Ask other European country like Italy or France. See what they write in their papers about gipsies and how unjustly they treat the REAL ROMANIANS as being gipsies.

In Romania we tried positive discrimination for the gipsyes but it didn't work. The state is offering them free education, from first grade to colledge. Every University in Romania is obligaded by law to rezerve a few places for gipsyes, even if their grades don't justify it. And they still refuse to come to school, because it puts them "out of production" as they call it. There are ofcorse a few exceptions, there are outstanding gipsy people that do deserve to be apreciated, but they are soooo few, not even 5% of the millions of gipsyes that live in Romania. My family offered shelter for one gipsy family, they ended up stilling from our home and selling all the household appliances we gave them. For months we were terrorised by them! It's sooo easy to cry out "discrimination". They use this as a weapon, if they steel and cheat and get cought, they always say that there are getting punnished because they are gipsyes. It's seems like it's imposible to find a solution.

Ok, head up people!!! Some of you are defending the gipsies without having the slightest idea what you are talking about. They are not those sweet lovely magical mistical happy joyful people yu see in movies. They are dirty, very mean, pervert, they still, annoy, beat up people.. they talk dirty, they are incredibly rude and it's not because of the blood, it's because they refuse to get out of their community and accept the help of those associations that actuallt try to bring them on the right track. trust me, my neighborhood is full of them, i've lived my whole live with them, I dislike them..
