Madonna To Organize Charity Concert In Malawi This Fall
Posted on Tue Jul 27, 2010 10:35 AM PDT
Madonna is reportedly planning a huge charity concert in Malawi this September, according to the Daily Mirror. The fundraiser will be shown on TV around the world, and Madonna is already trying to get pals such as U2 singer Bono to perform at the Walk Out of Poverty show.
A source at her Raising Malawi Foundation told a reporter at the Mirror, "Plans are in place to make this the biggest fund-raiser the world has ever seen. Madonna is throwing everything into it. She knows the bigger the event the more money will be raised."
Over 60,000 fans will get free tickets for the concert at a stadium in Blantyre, Malawi, but TV rights and merchandising will bring in millions of dollars, which will presumably go to Madonna's Raising Malawi charity.
Think this will be the biggest charity event ever? Or is Lady M setting her sights too high?

Barf! She always does things for attention. Old goat.
why doesn't she move to africa and change her fake english accent into um foo foo clicks and clacks
This is a wonderful gesture from Madonna. People who can't see beyond the superficial and don't understand the good message behind this just because they can't stand a popstar are just sad. Why only care about your own idol and hate other artists by calling them rude names (that don't make any sense) It says more about you than about the artist.
Wait -- Madonna's throwing a Charity Concert in a country that can't afford to give a damn about its' own people? Who's going to pay for all the upfront expenses -- or the tickets? I for honkin' sure am not giving a single dime to this goofball idea. She should just write out a check and walk away.
Anonymous: it clearly says that it's a FREE CONCERT. All expenses are paid by Madonna herself (for Raising Malawi) and out of sponsoring and tv broadcasts.
