Mariah To Receive Breakthrough Award For Role In Precious
Posted on Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:25 AM PDT

Mariah Carey will be honored with the breakthrough performance award for her role as a homely social worker in Precious at the 21st annual Palm Springs International Film Festival this January, reports THR.
Mariah has won acclaim for the role which required her to transform from music diva to mustached-matron in the film, which also boasts amazing performances from Mo'Nique and the movie's star, Gabourey Sidibe.
Although her performance was impressive, we can't help but wonder if they're giving this to her because it's so far from her hideous display in Glitter, or if she really deserves it?

Or if she's just the biggest star they could get to come to their fest!?!

Funny. All they did was take the lipstick off of a dirty messican pig.
You know, acting awards become a joke, when all it takes to win one is to ugly yourself up for a part. Gabourney, Moni'que and the rest of the crew blew their parts out of the water, Carey was ok but overshadowed by them.
Looking normal like when you wake up does not deserve an acting award.
I never thought she was gorgeous or anything but she looks downright ugly without makeup!
LOL wow so all celebs have to do is take off their make up to get awards?
(Looking at you Charlize Theron and Mariah)
anyone connected to showing how usa liberal gover't give-out slavery system leads to poverty, inbred ignorant class, cruel, criminal and violent minorities that are only sent to prision to rot; or kept in ghettos to riot, fight and kill their own and live in misery forever.. deserves awards.
She looks cute as a homely social worker. In real life though, it's her husband that's homely.
