Mary-Kate Carries New $4K Shoulder Bag With Jeans And Birkenstocks

Mary-Kate Olsen handled her new $4000 shoulder bag from her fashion line (with sis Ashley), The Row on Friday. Interestingly enough, the fashion maven paired the pricey bag with a classic striped French sailor shirt, jeans, Birkenstock sandals and wet hair!
The ladies' new line of purses range from about $2500 to a $39,000 ostrich leather backpack. MK may carry her red bag to the market but we doubt we'll see many NYU students in her 'hood porting a $40K backpack to class!

I don't get the high prices on these expensive bags. The handle is horrible, a thin little strap that bites into the shoulder if the bag has any weight in it. The bag itself looks thin. My e-reader and maybe a wallet if I'm lucky.
$4000 could have helped us all pay some bills. :( Imagine having money to throw that on a purse.
I don't understand how these people can live with themselves; wasting so much money. Is it really necessary to have a purse valued more than some peoples rent? If this is where their priorities lie, I question what kind of people they really are.

Actually, I'm not really jealous. Sure, it would be different to have unlimited money, but I truly am not fixated on that sort of thing. I would rather help others and enjoy a full, rich life than have a piece of cow-body that cost $4000 dollars. Possessions are nothing when compared to making memories with family, spending time with children and being yourself. If you need a $4000 handbag to show the world, what must you be lacking inside? No thanks. I take my $10 purse and the joy of friends and family any day.
Also, these people cannot eat, walk, shop, drive, speak or move without people following them. It's not because they like them, it's because they are paid to get the best shot, even if that means humiliating them. No thank you!
