Mel Gibson is soaking in the sun while promoting his latest film, The Beaver, at the Cannes Film Festival.
The shirtless star had no problem flaunting his not-so-fit stomach while hanging with a pal on the balcony of the Eden Roc Hotel in Cap d'Antibes.

Mel skipped the press conference for The Beaver, but director Jodie Foster says Gibson will be at tonight's premiere. Read what she had to say ... after the jump.

To be honest with you, I really don't think it's bad at all.
Not a big Gibson fan here, but I've gotta say that I find the Hollywood trend for both men and women to be as skinny as possible to be very disturbing.
I actually like it when a man is a little "bigger", and I think there is nothing wrong with a man having a "real mans" body.
I think Gibson has a great body just like this.
Listen up Hollywood: Not everyone in this world is only attracted to skinny people.
