Mel Gibson's Gay Brother Denies Mel Is Homophobic

Mel Gibson has been called anti-Semitic and homophobic, but his brother, who is gay, is defending the actor.
"I've never heard anything anti-gay come out of his mouth," says Andrew Gibson, 43, of Mel, 55, in an interview with The Sunday Times.
- "When I heard them (the accusations) I just thought, 'That isn't Mel.' ... He has never said anything abusive, aggressive or racist in his life. ... I just had to turn the TV off and turn it to the wall for two weeks so I didn't have to listen. The rest of the family did the same."
"He never meant to upset anyone," Andrew says "I have never once heard anything anti-gay come out of his mouth."
Andrew told the Times that when he came out age 22, it was "terrifying," but Mel was there for him, telling Andrew: "It's not my choice, but I love you and you're my brother."
Years ago, when promoting Braveheart, Gibson infamously said, " ... with this look, who’s going to think I’m gay? It would be hard to take me for someone like that. Do I sound like a homosexual? Do I talk like them? Do I move like them?”

Mel has probably the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome.
One word...DENIAL.. to say, I've never heard him say anything racist. What about the shit with the "Jew-pig" slurs from his DUI a few years ago. Uh that was racist... I'm seeing a pattern of behavior. Mel acts horribly and everyone comes to his defense, saying "That's not Mel" get a grip, IT IS!
Very telling, "It;s not my choice" - so he thinks being gay is a choice - and that gay people fit into a certain mold based on his previous statements - hopefully all he's recently been through will help to educate him -
Either his brother is a self-loathing, loyal brother...or he was paid a lot of money by Mel.
That is a really sad story, and the worst part is that so many people will take defense for face value. Terrible.
i firmely believe that mel gibson must be a genuinely nice gyu (who went wrong 'cause of alcohol) because every body who knows him came to his defence, even his divorced wife said good things about him @ oksana violence investigation. his people are loyal to him, that must be for some reason, and no, i don't think it's money!
What I think is that just because someone thinks that homosexuality is unnatural, or even wrong, that doesn't make them phobic (afraid) or hateful. Like Mel, I'd still love a friend or family member, even if I disagreed with their lifestyle choice.
Denial, just because he hasn't said it in front if his brother does not mean the tape recordings and witnesses who HAVE heard him use that language don't exist. He is a vile man (the latter word being arguable).

I like Mel. Always have and always will. I'd like to know who you people are, and what right you think you have to judge him, when you yourselves sound so judgemental. If I had to guess, I'd say Mel is probably less judgemental, and a heck of a lot kinder than most of you.
