WTF Happened To Melanie's Hair?

We love the Neil George Salon, so we're hoping this grandma 'do is for a role or an audition or something that would explain why Melanie left the salon looking like this!
Even Stella's embarrassed to be seen next to that hair!
And to add insult to injury, Melanie even got a parking ticket while she was inside!

Actually, in the 2nd pic, she kinda resembles a cross between the Alien & Vera (Planet of the Apes)!!! And if she's only in her 40's, whatever she's doing she ought to stop ASAP, cause she is really looking joan riverish!!
Aug. 9, 1957 that's Melanie's birthday, she will be 52 in Aug. 2009. It's not her age or plastic surgery that bugs me, it's her voice, it's so annoying.
I think she looks good even if she was bald. Just wait to some of you people get her age
