Michael Douglas' Son Sentenced To Four Additional Years In Prison

Cameron Douglas, son of actor Michael Douglas, has been sentenced to four additional years in prison for taking drugs while in jail. He was originally jailed in April 2010 on a five-year sentence for dealing meth and cocaine ... and possessing heroin.
The 33-year-old inmate reportedly asked the judge to "consider his crime a consequence of drug addiction." In court, Cameron told the judge, "You see your honor, I cannot seem to find comfort in my own skin."
Despite Douglas' plea, the judge said he needed a harsher punishment for his pattern of "reckless, disruptive and non-compliant" behavior.
Combined with his previous sentence, Douglas must now serve nine years total behind bars.

Libs and celebs tend to have the most self destructive kids.
It's hard to pass judgement on someone you don't know. He needs help, but I'm not so sure more prison time's the answer.
This seems like an incredibly harsh sentence.
The young man has an addiction problem.
Addicts will do anything to get their fix, and the craving seriously clouds their judgement.
Imagine yourself starving to death for food - that's how an addict feels.
This kid should be in a longterm treatment program.
10 years in prison for having a defective chromosome is barbaric and insane.
All he had was a couple of pills in his cell. Who knows, perhaps he was even set up.
Ten years, the sentence will destroy him.
What was the judge thinking?
The fact that his father was too busy during a crucial time in his life, and the mother was constantly upset due to being cheated on, did not help this boy either.
Thats for sure.
I think real crime is he access to drugs while in jail. If past abuse and history doesn't teach then it was just a waste of time. Clearly his son needs help and punishment but so does the system trying to rehabilitate him.
Addiction is clearly caused by genetic factors. Chromosomes 4 and 5 are involved.
It is a horrible, horrible burden on society and on the persons who inherit the defective DNA.
Celebrities and their offspring need to be very careful to stay out of the court system.
Stay within the law!
Putting yourself at the mercy of some judge is taking a chance.
You just never know how it will end if a judge has a personal ax to grind.
I never had much use for the arrogant Douglas clan. But yeah, this sentence is over the top. My heart goes out to his poor mother.
Michael Douglas is probably a much better father and husband to his second family.
Age and illness have slowed him down and mellowed him.
It's a pity his first wife and oldest son got the brunt of his earlier immaturities.
Someone needs to step in and help this boy. Sounds like he might have an attitude. Let's hope not, but something didn't set well with the judge. Surely they'll get help for him, while he's serving his time. I guess that extra time was the judges way of making a believer out of him. Some people have to learn the hard way. It's up to him now, to make a believer out of the judge. Michael's now paying for his mistakes. Son's an imprisoned drug addict, and a wife that's bipolar. Very sad.
Had to happen, Michael is a mean cheating dude who ignored his kids.. His father called him out on it but he ignored his dad, only a heart attack or cancer.. could tame him..
Michael the brute did drugs and was an alcoholic.. his son inherited his addictions..
