For every person who thinks critics are envious of the life styles of the rich, famous and self-destructive -- this story exemplifies why you are wrong. Sane people prefer to be surrounded by loving and trustworthy family and friends. They work hard caring for their family, excelling in their careers and achieving financial comfort. In essence, they cherish a normal, private life. Only an insane person would want to trade places with a self-destructive celebrity surrounded by sycophants catering to their base impulses. Michael Jackson lacked impulse control. He did not want to hear the word, No! He surrounded himself with sycophants who enabled his drug abuse and child molestation. It cost him his life. And irreparably harmed innocent children.

It seems Michael Jackson was a walking Rite-Aid pharmaceutical counter...it's any wonder he acted so peculiar; he was always higher than a kite. It's too bad SOMEONE wasn't able to convince (force?) him back into rehab.

Wouldn't be too surprising if we read about Amy Winehouse and/or Lindsay Lohan dying the same way as Michael Jackson. Celebs should listen and heed their families and friends who try to warn them about their out-of-control behavior...but addiction is difficult to overcome without professional assistance and most refuse to enter a facility.

No. He was a drug addict for decades. However, everyone deserves competent medical care. In his case, I would have preferred a competent doctor had helped him detox -- during a very long prison sentence.

That doesn't seem right...Paxil and Zoloft are both SSRIs and there would be no reason to take them together since they both do the same job. You take one or the other. If it is infact true that he was taking both, then I would be worried about Serotonin Syndrome alone which could prove fatal. The fact that it was taken with Demerol and other pain meds along with Xanax, which can contribute to this Syndrome just seems out of the norm. His doctor must have been prescribing this cocktail or must have at least known about it. It is pure ignorance on both the doctor and Michael's part. If he took everything listed, then he was just a walking time bomb.

His doc is probably going to get nailed, but I doubt he had just one doctor! He did what most Rx addicts and go doctor shopping to get what you need! But then again, he probably could just source whatever he wanted with just a little wave of his child touching hand! Someone should have prescribed a cyanide cocktail when he started raping kids.

He was dancing and working 4 hours a day, 6 days a week on all these drugs + antibioticum the last days. He had an infection and everybody need to rest when you're on antibioticum and not run or dance or work out. Especially with Xanax, Zoloft, Demerol and Paxil.
This doc has to be sued. He shouldn't give him those injections, Michael wouldn't do it himself as he was scared of needles. But the doc made him addicted and earned a lot of money.

I had a husband that took xanax and a few pills would make him act drunk so he took more and hed be zombified and he was diabetic and an addict to methadone as well and all that together killed him. "normal" blood sugar for him was 350-400. Did M.J.have anything like that??

He had vitiligo. It causes the pigment in your skin to die in patches. You can clearly see it even in very early pictures of him as a late teen/young adult. That is also why he wore that glove...because it started getting bad on his hand. Do a google images search on it...he didn't lighten his skin because he didn't want to be black. Stop spreading that rumor! It's old and has been proven untrue.

I totally agree with Ambrose O, Everyone will have to face death soon or later.The most important issue is are you ready or have you prepared for DEATH. If Micheal were on the drugs, we have to remember you ARE NOT FORCED to take any meds against your will.The doctor will only prescribe you with whats best fit your condition of health.God called for him, it was his time to go on to the next life..And who to say that the 50 concrets that was schedule wouldn't had took a toll on him either. Guys,lets get real 125pds@the age of 50 with the height of 5'10. Thats a little unreal. Who eats only once a day?

Despite what we all think about MJ, wether he did what he was accused of to children, what he did in his personal life doesnt take away the fact that he was a fantastic entertainer for many years. I dont particularly like him as a person only because i am unable to reach an opinion if he abused childrne or not. We should respect him for his music and let him RIP now.

I work at a famous eating disorder facility and I truly believe that Michael Jackson was suffering from anorexia. He is a poster child for child abuse, trauma, and an addictive, perfectionist personality. He fits the eating disorder profile perfectly....the world needs to understand that this is getting to be an epidemic in the USA...please research eating disorders (I'm sure someone YOU know is suffering in silence) God Bless Micheal Jackson and his children+family.

I think Michael Jackson was an amazing entertainer and I am amazed he lived as long as he did if he weighed 125 lbs and 6 foot tall - thats why his face was so gaunt looking. He was obviously under a lot of pressure to make money for everyone, his family and children and others involved in the entertainment industry. Thankyou Michael for giving us so much - now you can rest in peace and next time you come back you'll play a different role.
