Watching And Waiting... When's The Funeral? And Where?
Posted on Sun Jul 5, 2009 10:47 AM PDT

We know that Michael Jackson's public memorial service will be happening at the Staples Center this Tuesday, but what about the private funeral for his close friends and family?
It seems the Jacksons would HAVE to bury the King of Pop before Tuesday – question is, when and where? There are only two more days left and, so far, only two locations have been discussed: Forest Lawn or Neverland Ranch.
No news that Santa Barbara county has approved a request for a burial on this residential property, so all signs point to Forest Lawn for now. But X17 and the rest of the media are on the edges of their seats trying to make sure they don't miss it...
Meanwhile, there's a slightly unsettling report in The Sunday Mirror claiming MJ will be buried without his brain. Yeah.
The article alleges that the family would have to wait up to three weeks for Michael's brain to be returned to the body - the examination, which will hopefully determine (or provide clues to) the exact cause of death, needs to wait two weeks after the death so the brain has been "hardened sufficiently" to cut open.
The Mirror claims a forensic neuropathologist will test for past drug use, alcohol abuse and whether or not MJ suffered from past overdoses. Hmm, but will the Jacksons wait to bury Michael with his brain or not? Or will they bury the brain later, as the article suggests as a possibility?
It all sounds a little morbid to me! Maybe the family just wants to let Michael rest in peace... could the funeral be today, as it was originally reported?
We'll see!
