Interestingly, people in the American government DO get the European type of health insurance.

Our family uses Kaiser, which is a non-profit health care system very close to the European system.
We are very satisfied with the care and I wish everyone here in America could get such good care.
But costs keep rising in the for-profit health care systems, something HAS to be done.
If we can spend BILLIONS building Iraq, we should be able gto get decent health care to every American.

Its the best healthcare in the world, and the reason nurses and doctors have a decent life in America because healthcare is privatized. Nurses and doctors around the world if they get a chance to come to America to work as doctors they run because they know they can live comfortably and even aford luxury cars. Public healthcare pays doctors and nurses close to nothing. To be in medical school for many years, then to complete your education only to earn a sub-standard income is inconceivable to me. Sure America can afford healthcare for legal American citizens but through the years illegals have flooded our country with their unwanted pressence and are overburdenly the healthcare system and now senator Ted Kennedy, and Reid and the rest of the fools in congress want to screw it up even more. I just wanted to add something here. I live in Canada and I believe we do have one of t he best health care systems in the world. For the people that are saying America has the best health care you are completely nuts or so right wing you can’t even see a clear picture of the world’s state. Michael Moore was not saying Cuba has better health care then America which it actually does because it tops America on the list of health care. He was saying that in Guantanamo Bay where your government keeps it prisoner that they call "terrorist" and gives them better health care then the heroes that went down the trade center will ever get! For the certain people on this comment page to say there is nothing wrong with your heath care system is DISCARSFUL. These heroes that went down the trade center can not get the proper health care and are now dying because they were just trying to help there fellow man. These young men and women that going to Iraq and get there legs blown off because they go to fight the "war on terrorism" get nothing when they come back but a pat on the back no rehabilitation nothing they are left on there own...and turn to suicide and drugs.
