Miley Doesn't Want To End Up Like Britney Or Lindsay

In what's being called her first "grown up" interview with Glamour, Miley Cyrus (remember she's 16) talks about growing up in the Hollywood spotlight, dating an older man, and the pitfalls of celebrity.
First off, Miley finally admits that she and 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston are "more than friends." But of course, that's pretty obvious from the pics of them out last night at Hollywood hotspot Koi. She says her fans accept the age difference and that she "loves him so much she [doesn't] really care."
Miley also says that it's easy for celebrity kids to end up heading down the wrong path. For example, she says she was given a bottle of vodka in a gift bag when she was only 12-years-old!!! Miley says the usual rules don't apply to young stars, but just don't expect to see pictures of her out clubbing like Lindsay or Britney.
"I think that’s what’s messed up so many people. I feel like the rules are the rules, you know? If you’re not 21, you don’t get into a bar. You don’t go to clubs. In this business you see so many people who are told yes all the time, and if someone says no, they get all upset. They look to their publicist, manager or agent for approval, rather than their parents," Miley says.
Sounds like our Disney darling has got a pretty good head on her young shoulders!!

Give her the benefit of doubt. She may be annoying to our generation as I'm sure some of our past idols were to our parents. She hasn't done anything scandalous so leave her alone. You can't judge her based on Lindsay and Britney, she will find her own way and I'm sure she will make mistakes but isn't that what we all did.

i think miley is lookin 4 some attention her life is not so perfect shes datin a 20 yr old, been accused of bein rasicts, an done too sexy photoshoots for her age so i really think she needs 2 look at her own life before lookin at others. i understand shes sayin dat she doesnt want 2 make da same mistakes but dont look down ur nose at other peoples. by da way britney had mental health problems an she was gettin a hard time wit da media an her loser of a husband but she has turned her life around 4 da better. lindsay has completely ruined her career an image does drugs an looks 50

Totally do not agree with her dating a 20 year old man, but there's nothing anyone of us can do about it. I do find it incrediably sad that her parents allow this. I hope she doesn't turn out like so many girls, pregnant at a young age. She is correct that the young stars are told yes all the time, look how they've turned out. In rehab by 21. THIS disney darling needs to check out the very FIRST disney child star...who made the pattern these kids ought to follow...HILARY DUFF!!! She remains classy, hard-working, charitable, and has something called character...money won't buy THAT trait!!! She also has the looks and talent...and earned a LOT of money having all those qualities..at 21 she remains a class act...Miley ought to take heed of Hilary's manner of living...and note all of Hilary's work she's done these years since the disney years...we'll be seeing all of her efforts soon....Go Hilary!!
I agree, anon. Hil has several movies made and some tv guest appearances that are due this month..and I've read where she really does a super acting job in all these projects! I can't wait to see her again!!!! I just don't see Miley continuing a career like Hil as she grows older. She doesn't have the looks or charisma of Hil...sorry! It ain't easy coming out of all this kiddie success and growing older,,there is an awkward period after the 16, 17 year olds trying to handle more mature parts in movies, etc. Lots of luck to all these little teeny-boppers making their transitions like Hilary has had to do!
