Miley Says Internet Is "Dangerous" And "Wastes Your Life"
Posted on Tue Mar 16, 2010 07:15 AM PDT
You know, she's sort of got a point!
Miley Cyrus sat down with Movieline and chatted about why she left Twitter, and the Disney starlet explains that some things just need to be kept personal.
On quitting Twitter:
- “I was kind of, like, tired of telling everyone what I’m doing. I hate when I read things and celebrities are complaining like, ‘I have no personal life.’ I’m like, well that’s because you write everything that you’re doing ... I’d tweet, ‘I’m here,’ and I’d wonder why a thousand fans are outside the restaurant. Well, hello, I just told them. So I’m just, like, kind of thinking doesn’t really make a lot of sense. Everything I’m saying is not really going with what I’m putting on the internet."
On chatting on the internet vs. hanging out in person Miley says:
- “I just think it’s kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing and putting them on Facebook that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have a million pictures, but you’re not going to be in any of them. Because you’re not having fun, you’re too busy clicking away. So I think just enjoy the moment you’re in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it ... I’m telling kids, don’t go on the internet, it’s dangerous, it’s not fun, it wastes your life, and you should be outside playing sports or something.”
Hey, maybe we should all listen to this girl a little more...we certainly could do without a little less Twitter in our lives!

Comments
Miley is so naive. I followed a handful of artists on twitter, and they don't report where they are. They only do it on twitter when they are promoting an event they are attending, and want to promote the event/fundraising/concert/new albums/etc...
There is so much to tweet about other than where your location is Miley. Just take a look at Bill Gates, Slash, Samantha Ronson, Conan O'brien twitter pages, they only give their location when they want people to be there.
And those horse teefs make feeding her a carrot dangerous. And carrot shaped items.
Yes but you know she goes on all the sites to see if she is on it
muppet!
you know she used to ring the paparazzi
biggest famewhore ever
She got so many negative comments on her twitter it overwhelmed her.
she is just a silly teen who really can't handle that much scrutiny
Please. The internet is here to stay and has become an important business tool. But this twat never had a job, so she doesn't understand it.
why is she still yacking about this?
This is the only thing I like that has ever come out of her mouth! BRAVO MILEY!!!!! Kids today should be outside playing instead of on facebook and aim. It's one thing to be on the internet when you're at work - but home should be time for real connections!
You have to be able to form coherent sentences on twitter, which seems too much trouble for this idiot.
Miley got burned because too many of her private pictures showed up on the web.
But she is the idiot who posed for them.
Why blame the web.
Why doesn't she tell the truth? she did not want people to know about the much older guy she was dating at the time.
i don't know/care whether she really thinks so or what she'd done before, but she is 100% right! internet for business is one thing, but when young kids spend their lives in front of their computers, thats really sad) plus totally agree about the trend of taking photos of yourselves & posting them on facebook instead of really interacting and having a good time)
Shut up and upload my stiff meat piston into your wet meat wallet so I can then download my salty protein snack in your throat.
