Alice Breaks Box Office Records!
Posted on Sun Mar 7, 2010 11:37 AM PDT

Whoa! Like the title character, Alice in Wonderland grew to unimaginable heights over its three day weekend - including midnight screenings on Thursday...
The Tim Burton film raked in a whopping $116.3 million bucks! No film in the first quarter of a year has even come close to that, ever! The previous March record was held by 300 in 2006 when it took in $70.89 mil. Alice also holds the record for being the biggest opening for a non-sequel for any month of the year. Now that's impressive!
And its worldwide total so far? $210.3 million! Move over Avatar, there's a new sheriff in town.
Just saw the 3D visual feast last night - it wasn't as wild as expected, but the whole movie looked beautiful! Thoughts?
Crazy!

I thought it sucked, little J.
I don't go to the theater but I am going to go see this one. Depp is amazing and I love his work as I love Burton as well. But I sure won't go see the new movie the Tourist-it looks like a typical boring spy movie. I am suprised considering the calibur of films Depp has made that he commited to that movie. It's not a Depp type of film. Hopefully he is smart enough to pull out of it.
I think Depp looks like Elijah Wood in that photo.
Oh boy, visually stunning, but the movie wasn't that good. I'm not surprised it broke records, because there was a lot of anticipation, but honestly it wasn't very good. Helena Bonham Carter did the best as the Red Queen, she was supremely entertaining. Anne Hathaway was miscast and really played a weird version of her Princess Diaries character and Johnny Depp didn't impress me for the first time ever. Wasikowska was allright.
i ate acid and saw this and it was super trippy next time iam just going to burn one
Loved the nod to Edward Scissorhand when Alice needed a dress that fit. Great movie.
I look forward to seeing Johnny and Angie
in The Tourist.
Damn, that is one ugly face. Warn us next time before we look at it.
