What, you thought it would flop? This is James Cameron we're talking about! Everyone already felt the same way about Titanic, and look what happened there.
The veeery long sci-fi film raked in $77.3 million at the domestic box office this weekend, and nearly $160 mil in foreign markets. That brings its grand total to about $230 million... DAMN.
But don't forget, Avatar cost, oh, some $460 mil to make and market, so it's still got a long way to go. Think it'll produce a profit?
I saw it - the visuals were amaze but the movie was weak on story. Thoughts?
Still, it's pretty spectacular to look at!

Who cares! I found a great datingsite (((((( S e e k i n g R i c h 。c0m )))) last week. The best datingclub for seeking the richsingles, sexy beauties. what's the most important is that you don't have to be a milllionaire, but you can meet one. Charlie Sheen found his true love on that site in 2007.
I am going to see it on the weekend, but I heard while the special effects were beyond amazing. but the story was recycled from his previous movies. I guess I'll see for myself.
The movie will definitely break even. I'm thinking it'll make between 600-800 million total in its whole box office run.
omg, are you kidding?? the movie was AMAZING! truly breathtaking special effects, the love story was heartwarming, and overall, strong movie. i recommend it- definitely and A! plus, i hate sci-fi movies but this one just rocked my socks!
but another celeb website said it did horrible!!! i dont think this movie is worth 500 million
Bottom line, it is changing movies forever. Its a break through we should be happy for the people involved. Great movie.
Great movie, going to see it again Wednesday.
I made the mistake of not seeing it in 3D so I am going to correct that.
I saw it Friday and it was a great movie! If I had the time, I would go see it again in the theatre. The special effects were great, but I gotta say the sound effects were great too. Sometimes I'd hear things on the left and then different things on the right, it was cool.
Who wants to see hero marines get killed? All this spectular show went into liberal hate.
James Cameron hates America.. don't give him your cash to destroy our freedoms and constitution
ETs, spirits, aliens, hybrids?
The very same stinking, dead shiit.
Fack you, Fack you all!
All hybrids will be hunted down and killed. All of them!
I saw this movie in 3 D and it was awesome. Sam is so handsome and down to earth.
Hwood and the media has done alot of damage to America and society through their movies, tv and news.
They are self loathing americans, then they wonder why we don't have a good image abroad.
the movie is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G
you guys should check this one, i never thought that cameron has some crazy imagination to create this beautiful story. i hope they won oscar for best director, pictures and soundtracks. they all deserves an awards because of this movie.
I saw it in 3-D at an IMAX and it was a kick ass movie! The new 3-D tech seemed to work better than say, Beowolf and didn't leave me with the same headache for once! The 3-D absolutely POPS like no other movie I've ever seen! Too bad the game version blows (rental, thankfully!), but otherwise, the movie was most definitely worth the price of admission! Interestingly, if you have a new 3-D capable tv and the right set up, you can play the game in 3-D, which is very promising on that front! Never saw it in 3-D, but heard that part is cool! Go see the movie! And after that, rent or buy District 9, another very cool movie!
Great movie, cost a little over $400 mil to make and market.
Yes, visual were exciting (saw in 3D), but nothing that I haven't already seen before. Very weak story. A little too Disney for me. Kids/families will enjoy it.
I watch the movie in 3D and even like that was the most stupid movie i have ever seen i hate it!!!!!! the story is lame
you couldn't pay me to go see this crap what is with people these days?
7:01 PM. Go stare at your toiletpaper then!!..lol..
I saw it! The technology used is amazing... go see it !!
ahhhhh X17 writer you are on crack. the movie was AMAZING. REally one of the best movies I have ever seen!!!
It was a good movie but a very long time to have to sit still at the movies, my butt fell asleep!
loved it it will win best pic
LOVE IT''''GREAT FOR THE KIDS
no sherlock for me
i guess if you come from any country that has done & is still doing plunder on third world countries, you may find this movie crappy.... i applaud james cameron for having the balls to not sugarcoat such atrocities that do happen in the real world....
One of the best movies I've ever seen. Watch it in 3D... it's definitely NOT your old 3D. This movie had a lot of plot, action, romance, and made you cry, laugh, and mostly hold on to the edge of your seat. Don't take kids under 13. It's rated PG13 for a reason. I give it 5 stars, and that's rare. :)
All of you ppl who are trying to review this movie WITHOUT even seeing it is like trying to describe an orgasm without having ever experienced it... so SHUT THE F UP!
