Will Sam Mendes Direct The Next Bond Film?
Posted on Wed Jan 6, 2010 11:32 AM PDT

That's the rumor at least!
Variety reports that American Beauty director Sam Mendes - who's married to Kate Winslet - is in talks to direct the latest Bond flick, despite the fact that MGM refused to confirm it...
The troubled studio put itself up for sale last November, hence the cause for various production delays. Mendes has already directed actor Daniel Craig in Road to Perdition.
I like this choice! Mendes is by no means an action-oriented director, but the franchise is in need of a new vision this time around. Can't wait!

Who cares. Kate Winslet is fat and ugly although she dropped some pounds.
American Beauty was a really sucky movie.
Her husband/director is the ONLY reason she gets such good press, award worthy roles, oscars......
Get an afternoon soap opera director to direct the next james bond movie, because that's how stale james bond is. James Bond is a British thing of the past, played too many times by too many actors. Have j.b. go insane, turn into Hannible Lector and executed by terrorists and claim to be a ghost talking to Whoopie Goldberg.
The characters; Bob Lee Swagger, Jason Bourne and Bryan Mills are way better.
That guy looks like Donald Sutherland and I think his royal highness, the one and only; Andre Benjamin should be the next secret spy. He is the coolest dude with the neatest dance moves and best laugh. Be Cool...
Casino Royal was cool, with D. Craig. He is a much better action James Bond, he deserves another chance and hopefully the next script will be more exciting.
