Nick Cannon: Mariah Carey "Would Love To" Be Idol Judge

Now that Jennifer Lopez has dropped out of the running to be a judge on American Idol, Nick Cannon is throwing his wife Mariah Carey's name into the mix!
When asked if Mariah was interested in the big job, Cannon told THR:
- "You know what? She talks about it. She says, "I would love to do that." She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do "Idol." Let's start the campaign!
Cannon, 29, also opens up about his American's Got Talent colleage Piers Morgan heading to CNN as Larry King's possible replacement. Cannon adds:
- "We joke about it all the time. I tell him, "You ain't got the suspenders yet playa, calm down. You ain't got the gig yet, so don't get in here trying to act like you're Mr. Larry King." But in all seriousness, he would be perfect for the job. He's been in journalism for decades. He's extremely intelligent, and he's not afraid to go at anyone."
Wonder if that's the first time Piers has been called a "playa?"
Nick Cannon just extended his term as chairman of the TeenNick network through January 2012.

Mariah is boring and to lazy to do anything that requires discipline besides her music makes my ears bleed. A big voice is not appealing to everyone.

Mariah does have a beautiful voice but has changed so much over the years. She is a major diva and I would definitely not watch AI if she became a judge on the show. I would rather see Jessica Simpson.

Mariah would make a horrible judge. In my opinion Mariah, Jessica Simpson, and J-Lo, would be the absolute worst judges.
I think that Mary J. Blidge would make an excellent judge.

Nick Cannon had nothing to do with her career being ruined. Mariah took care of that all my herself. If we need to start pointing fingers, then Mariah should point directly at herself. When she first came out, she was so awesome, but then she got so full of herself. In my eyes, she is pretty much a has-been.
