Nicki Minaj is ready to show just why she was chosen as a judge on this season of American Idol.

The bootylicious babe stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to chat about fellow judge Mariah Carey and their rumored fued.

As for how the fighting allegedly began, Ms. Minaj tells Ellen:

"I don’t know. It was just two big old divas, I guess.  I was just like sitting there.  and I guess before I went in there I heard all the stuff that was being said but I didn’t believe it.  I heard them saying Mariah doesn’t want you on the panel but I was like, no. I am friends with Mariah.  I was like arguing people down. Like, don’t believe everything you read, you’re crazy. And so I went there and I started to feel a bit of the shade. And I just kind of over compensated by being crazier."

Nicki is also sharing the panel with Keith Urban. She describes her current relationship with Mariah with the following:
 

"We’re fine. I cannot hold a grudge against Mariah Carey.  What people don’t understand is that I’ve looked up to her for so many years. Since she came out, “Vision of Love” all that. Me and my Mother would sing her songs like all day and all night."

Now that's something we'd love to see!

The American Idol judge stepped out for an afternoon of shopping at Gucci in Beverly Hills wearing head to toe leather. Whoa ... those are some skintight pants, girl!

We're lovin' the blonde wig and soft pink lips. Ms. Minaj has it goin' on for the holidays. After dropping serious cash at Gucci, the songstress and her bodyguard gave a homeless man $100 on the way out. Watch the video below.

Ho, ho, ho ... and we mean that in the merriest way!

Nicki Minaj made an appearance on Good Morning America yesterday, and the 29-year-old singer opened up about her alleged feud with American Idol co-star Mariah Carey.

“[Mariah's] been one of my favorite artists of all time since I can remember, so it’s weird that everything kind of, was blown up like that," she said. "It didn’t make me happy at all. I can’t take away what she’s done in my life and just in pop culture in general and just having one of the most amazing voices in the world. Having said that, I’m an adult and we are passionate on the set and sometimes when you’re a passionate woman, you know, sometimes it kind of ruffles other women’s feathers, but I’m going to continue to be Nicki Minaj.”

Last month Minaj and Carey got in a very heated argument during a taping in North Carolina, and though Keith Urban and Randy Jackson tries to calm the ladies, Nicki lost her composure and screamed at the veteran pop star. A video of the squabble hit the web where Nicki can be heard saying, "I'm not going to take it back, and if you've got a f*cking problem, handle it. I told them, I'm not f*cking putting up with her f*cking highness over there." Yikes!

We're not sure what's more over the top -- Christina Aguilera's spray tan or Nicki Minaj's hair!

We'll give Xtina a hand for lopping off the pink tips and going for a sleek bob, but how about this purple Pamela Roland dress? It doesn't really do wonders for her body, and the orange hue of her skin isn't the best match for the lavender frock. But again, bonus points for the hair...

On the other hand, Nicki killed it with her look, even if it is a bit on the neon side. Come on, would you really expect her to go for a subtle LBD? This girl is all about flashing her brights! And it must be her lucky dress, because she just won her first award of the evening, for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Congrats!

Justin Bieber is flexing his 18-year-old directing muscles in his latest music video for "Beauty And A Beat."

Selena Gomez's sexy beau is getting wet and wild while holding a handheld video camera ... with the one and only Nicki Minaj by his side.

Earlier this week, Biebs claimed his computer was stolen along with personal footage.

Ironically, at the beginning of the video, a screen appears that reads, "In October of 2012, three hours of personal footage was stolen from musician Justin Bieber. The following footage was illegally uploaded by an anonymous blogger.”

So was the computer theft all a joke? Regardless, Justin and Nicki have no problem getting their grind on in the video.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have scored the most American Music Awards nominations ... four each!

The nominations were announced this morning by Christina Aguilera at the JW Marriot Los Angeles at L.A. Live.

Drake, Maroon 5, One Direction, Usher and Justin Bieber all nabbed three nominations each.

The American Music Awards will take place on November 18.

This season of American Idol is sure to be jam-packed with drama ... especially with Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey sitting at the same judges' table.

After word spread that the two divas got into a screaming match during auditions in Charlotte, NC, host Ryan Seacrest opened up about the situation on KIIS-FM.

Seacrest told his audience: "It got heated between Nicki and Mariah. It was intense! I'll be honest with you . .. It went far last night. It did get intense."

During the AI fight, Minaj is heard saying, "I told them I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out."

Ryan then adds:

"These are all very different individuals with different perspectives and different opinions that provide for interesting conversation and dialogue and feedback for the contestants."

With AI competing against X Factor with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato AND The Voice with Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine ... makes us wonder if this diva drama was all staged to get people chattin' about Idol. Guess it worked!
