"holey" jeans/pants look cool if thats how they ended up from wear and tear. They look totally uncool if you took a scissors to them to try and make them look cool.

This look doesn't work. Its not really believable that an heiress wore holes into the knees of her pants - I wouldn't believe that she broke a finger nail. I agree with 9:20 - only cool if they end up that way not if you paid hundreds of dollars to buy them that way. If you want authentic ripped jeans let me introduce you to my closet.
