Karl Lagerfeld called and he wants his hair back!

When we saw that Nicole Richie uploaded a photo from the salon yesterday, we were hoping she was going for a hot bleached blonde 'do, but instead she's trying a little too hard to be a rebel with her white locks.

As you know, the theme of the 2013 Costume Institute Gala is "Punk: From Chaos to Couture," and while we love Nicole's white Topshop dress and studded ear cuff, she covered up her tattoos and ended up looking more like a hot 70-something than the fashionista we know and love. Wonder if she should have consulted with rock star hubby Joel Madden before her big night out?

Musical talent evidently run in Nicole Richie's family.

Richie made a stylish appearance on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to promote her new web series #CandidlyNicole.

The Fashion Star judge, who donned a sexy pantsuit with a plunging neckline and sported a new, sleek bob, discussed her AOL reality series based on her Twitter feed. She also gushed about her musically inclined children. She later played a bouncy slide game called "Boomerang Blitz" with fellow guest Ellen Pompeo. Now that's letting your hair down.

Richie said that her three-year-old son Sparrow, who's perpetually on tour with her rocker dad Joel Madden, organizes daily talk shows, followed by meet and greets, for the household.

"I actually work out of my house so everyone that works in the house, everybody has to go downstairs to the kitchen," she told Ellen. "Joel's his bodyguard and Joel says he's very busy and he stands on his steep stool and he goes 'I'm very busy, but nice to meet you.' And we go stand in line and we shake his hand and you take a picture with him."

Everybody now, awww!

Nicole Richie just got back from St. Barth and she's already back to work! And while she's no longer in a bikini, she still turned heads in a hot see-through top and pant combo.

The slender starlet appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, and she chatted about everything from hubby Joel Madden and the songs he's written about her (some good, some bad!) to how she'd react if her kids wanted to get tattoos like their dad and uncle.

Of course, she also discussed the second season of Fashion Star and whether she feels any sort of competition with fellow mentor Jessica Simpson ... check out her interview clips below!

Jessica Alba, hubby Cash Warren and pal Nicole Richie flew out of St. Barth yesterday afternoon, and while everyone looked ready to get home to their kids, we bet they would have loved to have stayed for just one extra day...

After seeing both Nicole and Jessica's amazing bikini bods all week long, these outfits are relatively conservative, but we def dig their airport style!

Nicole Richie enjoyed a pristine St. Barth beach Saturday. The Fashion Star judge is on a girls' grip with pal Jessica Alba (though her hubby Cash Warren came along) and a few other friends.

Meanwhile, Richie's hubby Joel Madden stayed home alone. Wonder why he wouldn't want to partake in the Caribbean getaway? And spend some bro-time with Cash?!

We're not sure who's watching their kids, but Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie enjoyed some quality girl time together in St. Barth on Thursday afternoon. The hot mamas went for a stroll on the beach, and later we snapped them enjoying a few cold beverages at lunch with their friends.

Interestingly enough, Jessica's hubby Cash Warren is traveling with them, but Joel Madden is still here in Los Angeles. Wonder why he opted out? Is there trouble in paradise?
