Nicole Scherzinger Not Engaged To Boyfriend Lewis Hamilton

Is Nicole Scherzinger finally engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton?
Not so fast!
This whole confusing mix-up started when The Mail on Sunday printed an interview with Nicole's father, Alfonso Valiente, over the weekend. In it, the 52-year-old proud papa was quoted as saying:
- "You know about the proposal? Yes they are engaged. My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him. The good spirit is there."
But Nicole took to Twitter (twice!) to shoot down her dad's words. On Sunday, Nicole wrote:
- "Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its not true:)"
Then on Monday, The X Factor judge reaffirmed it to make sure you really know that she's still not engaged to her boyfriend of four years. Seriously this time. Nicole Tweeted:
- "Hi all:) Just to reaffirm, Alfonso was misquoted... Lewis and I are not engaged. But thanks for the love and support!"

The Mail on Sunday admitted that they left a message for Lewis' rep Simon Olivera in the afternoon. Olivera did deny the engagement later that evening, but the paper's early editions had already gone to press.
