Obviously, you've never been in combat. We loved it and appreciated that the Oscars ending supporting the troops who serve so you can be bored watching a movie.

I agreed with all the awards except Hurt Locker as the Best Picture. Avatar, Precious and Inglorious were far better movies and one of them should have one.

As a Veteran i found myself disliking The Hurt locker, mainly because of the near negative portayals of troops over there. I have never seen combat, as a TLO i spent most of my time squaring away broken or malfunctioning electronics while stationed in Mosul, many times i have encounterd EOD specialists attempting to replace messed up sparkers and such, these guys were precious to the Army, and would always travel in a convoy along side 2 fireteams at all times and would never be sent out of the Control zone unless a deployed caravan was stationed near a possible danger zone. THL made it seem almost insulting to the veteran viewers. Reckless behavior like that would have never been allowed to go so far.

Its very different being in the homeland assuming that every soldier that is in the military is where they are now for the sole purpose of killing or glorifying our nation's force. Some of us did not have the luxury to not be directly effected by events in the past decade. Growing up i did not have the luxury of gaining easy access to things people would find simple. I joined the Army for tuition purposes and never regretted it. I made many friends in Iraq and most of them are people like me, Soldiers looking for alternatives, no one was there for the thrill of it.

Now some of you can assume many things about the troops who are out there right now, but no matter what, respect for what we do is something important, considering that mostly everyone would laugh before volunteering to go into danger, so before anyone wants to judge every soldier on their own personal assumption think this: would you rather our asses get sent to do the dirty work, or would you rather go in there and do it yourself regardless of the issues surrounding why we are there in the first place.

If you feel like you rather stay home then a little respect please?

Two survivors of the blasts say they remember seeing him on a Madrid commuter train before the explosions. Zougam is also linked to a suicide bombing last year in Casablanca in which more than 40 people died. Many of the group's radical Islamist followers studied in Saudi-financed schools that sprang up in Casablanca's poor neighborhoods in the 1970s.

Prime Minister Tony Blair said there would be the "most intense police and security service action to make sure we bring those responsible to justice."

Earlier Thursday Deputy Police Chief Brian Paddick said there had been no arrests, adding that it was unclear whether suicide bombers were involved. "Four devices we believe were involved in today's incidents," Paddick told a joint news conference in the city. "The police service received no warning about these attacks," he said, noting that the authorities had also received no claims of responsibility. "This clearly was a callous attack on purely innocent members of the public deliberately designed to kill and injure innocent members of the public. "At the moment we do not know whether this was suicide bombers or simply packages left on the bus and in the Underground stations. It's too early to say. "There is no indication that these were anything other than conventional explosives."

A previously unknown group calling itself the "Secret Organization group al Qaeda Organization in Europe" released a statement Thursday claiming responsibility for the subway and bus bombings in London earlier in the day. Police said there was no specific intelligence before bombings, but officers in the capital had been on high alert anyway for several months, especially with G8 summit taking place this week in Scotland. Addressing fears of further attacks, Paddick said buses and trains in the capital would be searched before bringing them back into service. He added there was no information there might be other explosive devices though. Hundreds of London police officers involved in the security operation around the G8 summit in Scotland returned to the capital following the attacks.

About 1,500 officers had formed part of the 12,000-strong contingent of police, gathered from across the UK, to police the G8 summit of world leaders at Gleneagles. In the rest of Britain, police at rail stations said they planned to talk to commuters who may have vital information to catch the terrorists. A spokeswoman told the Press Association: "Teams of officers will be deployed to railway stations to interview passengers returning from London to assist in the collation of witness information."
