Photographers To Sue Agressive Security Detail At Bachelor Wedding

dress wedding The Bachelor

Does this look like unnecessary force against a guy charged only with obstructing a pedestrian path? Photographers covering the wedding of The Bachelor Jason Mesnick and his new wife Molly Malaney Saturday in Rancho Palos Verdes got a little surprise when they were confronted by beefy security in suits, ready to shove their faces in the ground and have them ARRESTED just for standing in a path in a completely open, public hiking area.

We think four guys on one is a bit much for a person who was standing still where he should have been walking -- not exactly a violent crime, right?!

And handcuffs??!!!

One photographer arrested during the incident tells X17online exclusively:

"I'm pissed. Those guys were way out of line. We were not posing a threat to anyone and ABC staged a wedding area that was in clear view from the public property just next to it. If they wanted protection from the media, they should have had the ceremony indoors. I'm not going to let those guys get away with what they did -- they way they treated us was inhumane."

The shooter also told us he was kept at the police station until 2:30 am!!!!. Ironically - look at the video and see WHO was obstructing WHO. Hikers would have been able to easily pass by photographers standing on the trail; meanwhile, when security were trying to force shooters off the public property, THEY obstructed anyone from passing. Seems like a violation of California State Penal Code 647c PC to me ...

647c PC - Obstruction of street, sidewalk or other public place. Every person who willfully and maliciously obstructs the free movement of any person on any street, sidewalk, or other public place or in any place open to the public is guilty of a misdemeanor.

So just WHO should have been arrested here -- the photographers or the security guards?

In case you missed the disturbing video yesterday ...

And did you see in our video, the ABC cameras getting the whole thing on tape from the hotel room balcony? Put THAT in your edit, guys!

can't believe it but I'm siding with the paps on this one. this wedding was all about publicity, should have held it indoors if they were that desperate for privacy

Posted by: Anonymous

pig paps got what they asked for. Leave them along on there wedding day

Doesn't an officer (if he is one) have to provide a badge number upon request? They can't, by law, refuse, right? This video was nuts.

Paps are wrong.

Posted by: SuckItPaps

Paps can suck it down. Wah, wah there's the sound of the wahmbulance.

Of all the bogus complaints. It should be legal to peppper-spray paparazzi and photographers. These guys make people miserable by their insensitive and obnoxious behavior.

It's too bad the muscle didn't beat the shit out of the photog's.

papz make me famous first

Posted by: Betsy

They should have beat the shit out of that Iraqi scum of the earth terrorist paps. They ALL need to carry their ass back to the rathole they climbed out of.

They are all a bunch of filthy ass fucking pieces of scim bag dog shit and smell like rotten garlic.

good for the damn security. yeah, they probably could have been a little less violent, but paparazzi is known for not knowing when to back the hell off. shooting a wedding is not as bad as, oh i don't know, shooting pictures of paris and nicky hilton at their grandmother's funeral or shooting pictures of heath ledger's body bag when they were bringing him down from his apartment, but still this is just another example of how paparazzi have NO respect for the people they shoot pictures of. it's about time they were put in their place.

OH MY GOD!!! major lawsuit! i hope security all go to jail and paps get $100,000+ each

Posted by: Anonymous

Oh somebody call the wambulance! Who cares?! That's the risk the paps take w/ their job. If they're gonna sneak around and sit their like spiders waiting to take pics for money they should expect to get caught and knocked around from time to time. Naturally the people they are taking pics of get pissed off. Had they taken the wedding inside, they would have found a way in there too.

papz make me famous first

Posted by: Paps going down! Yeah!

HAHA!!! I love this! Good for the securtiy. Paps are pieces of sh$$ anyway. That's what you get for sticking your cameras in everyone's face. Goes with the job. You get paid for those shots - work for them. Sometimes it is going to get a little rough. You don't like it? Become human and get a real f'n job.

its called karma! its been a long time coming...paps finally met someone who had nothing to lose and put them in their place. they feed on the fact that celebrities cant curse them out because it's bad press. hopefully they find someone better and more productive to do with their lives than sell crotch shots...losers.

Inhumane? You so called "photographers" are trolls. You create inhumane conditions all the time with your vulture like ways. You are pond scum. And now, opportunists, people like you love to sue. It's just another "occupation" for you.

Posted by: Anonymous

From a legal standpoint the security is way off base, this was public property. Do I agree with the paps, no they are intrusive and pushy but they were within their rights to be there. ABC is the one the should shoulder the blame here, if you wanted this to be a private affair do it someplace secluded, not out in an open space.
I smell a lawsuit brewing!

why are you all on X17 if you hate paps so much, where the he11 do you think they get their pics from

Posted by: Anonymous

Sorry X17....the guy looks like he was resisting, thus the arm bar. You only post when he's taken down and not what he does before. Lying shits.

Posted by: Anonymous

papz make me famous first....please

Posted by: Anonymous

Isn't inhumanE for animals? Inhuman is for people. So the pap admits he's a dog, a pig, a snake etc...

Posted by: Anonymous

Why do all the people here who hate paps come to x17?

This site wouldn't exist without them.

Fools, all of you.

Posted by: Anonymous

I can't believe the sheriff's took them in for that. What a joke. Just because it's Palos Verdes, that's all. The "security guard" should be arrested for assault. AND, this is a public beach trail supported by the California Coastal Commission. RPV jerks do not get to control access to the beach.

I hope the photographers (they are photographers, this is NOT Italy) lose and this sets a precedent. It would also be nice if there were laws put in place to keep these dirty, illegal aliens away from affluent neighborhoods so those who've earned the right to live there aren't bothered by these parasitic creeps.

Posted by: Anonymous

I would carry a gun.

Posted by: Anonymous

10:47 AM, I don't think most people said they hated the paps. They said they got what they deserved. Obviously we wouldn't be out here if we didn't enjoy the pics. But if they are going to do this for a living they need to be able to deal w/ the bullshit that comes w/ it and move on instead of trying to sue somebody every time they turn around.

It is a fine to touch those plants. They are protected. Look at the security trampling them! $50,000 fine or 1 year in prison! Careless!!!!

papz make me famous first....please

some one is cooking law suit ahhaaaa

papz make me famous first....please

A clear case of security over stepping their place. Several cases of battery on this tape (the paps were touched without permission). This shot could cost ABC millions.

Posted by: Anonymous

paps are losers.

Posted by: Anonymous

The "Security" team will be held accountable for battery, unlawful arrest and Kidnapping. The photographers will be getting a HUGE settlement for sure. This was a great day for them.

Posted by: Anonymous

The Pap's are SCUM of the earth and all should get treated like this. As a former member of the print media most news has gone tabloid and is nothing more than scum sucking pigs.

Posted by: Anonymous

Seriously...did Jason and Molly REALLY think they could have security shut down the entire area? Last I checked they were not royalty and the security they hired has to abide by the same laws that we all abide by...do the photographers cross the line many times...YES...does that mean that "wanna be celeb's" are entitled to hire security that acts as
vigilante justice? If you want a wedding that is private...plan a wedding that is secluded and covered so that photographers cannot get to the venue! I am thinking that "The Bachelor" could use some real wedding publicity...could ABC be the rat that wanted some positive publicity for an actual "bachelor" who married the girl he selected on the show...WAIT...not the best senerio...but it works for all involved...so best wishes for a long and happy life together:)

Paps aren't even real photographers. They're no-talent, frustrated filmmakers, who didn't make it in Hollywood. Maybe this incident will encourage them to get a real job.

Posted by: Anonymous

If they were on private property the guards did nothing wrong

Posted by: Anonymous

i hope the security firm gets rippedd apart

Posted by: Anonymous

They should have just shot 'em. Those idiots deserve to die. Tabloid photographers are the lowest of the low.

Posted by: Anonymous

Don't like the paps? Don't buy the products that show their photos. They'll find something else to do.
As for the security guards. These guys need to be in jail. You can't walk up to people wave your hands in their faces jump on their backs and wrestle them to the ground in a public place. Just because you don't like what someone does for a living doesn't mean they don't have civil rights. If you don't like the constitution, move.

Posted by: Anonymous

Same old story - these photogs are the bottom of the barrel and deserve this kind of treatment. Anybody who sides with them comes from the same trailer trash gene pool they do. End of story.

Posted by: Some Dude

Paps are scum. Well established fact.
Security hot heads are dangerous. Prosecute and teach them to stay in line. It's still a free country.

Posted by: Anonymous

they should have choke slammed all of those pathetic mexican paps. go get in ur 57' chevy truck boat and go home and make a living in ur own country and stop polluting ours with ur worthless presence

Posted by: Anonymous

Who the heck are you?
