Paris Hilton Defends Herself, Insists That She's A "Promotion Machine"

After being sued by the producers of 2006's Pledge This! for not doing enough to promote the flick, Paris Hilton is defending herself in a deposition filed in Miami federal court.
Paris states, "Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press, if I was doing something for another product...I would just bring it up, 'Oh, my new sorority film, it's going to be sexy, it's going to be really hot girls'...I really did my best."
The Associated Press reports that the lawsuit was filed by Michael Goldberg, the court-appointed receiver for a failed Miami investor in the film, Worldwide Entertainment Group. Goldberg claims Hilton's failure to promote the movie's DVD release cost the investor more than $8.3 million, which is the amount of damages he's seeking. The trial is set to begin by June 8.
Paris and her company, Paris Hilton Entertainment Inc., insist that the heiress honored her deal to promote the limited theatrical release of Pledge This!, and they also contend that the investors made unreasonable and last-minute demands for publicity events when her schedule was fully booked.
Court documents in the case show that Paris earned more than $22 million in 2006 and 2007 from contracts that included heavy promotional work, including Motorola cell phones in Japan, her Parlux line of fragrances, cosmetics and accessories, and promotional nightclub appearances. And if you know Paris, you know she knows a thing or two about plugging products!
We have firsthand knowledge of Paris' publicity machine-like ways - she's always cordial and gracious with our photogs, and the girl is like a one-woman PR firm, so we can't imagine her not sticking to her end of bargain when it comes to promoting something!

Perhaps they lost money because no one is interested in seeing this no-talent skank in any movie. What were they thinking?
The fact that companies were willing to pay Paris Hilton 22 million dollars to promote their products horrifies me.
Fortunately, the period of madness that made this possible seems to be ending (and not a moment too soon!).
It seems no matter what Paris does she is adored and will always get work, i think this is because she is so beautiful
