Paris: From The Big House To House Arrest

The AP is reporting (via the Denver Post) that while Paris Hilton may have been released from the Lynwood Correctional Facility early this morning, the heiress isn't even close to escaping the long arm of the law ... Now, instead of serving 23 days at Lynwood, she'll be serving 40 at home with a bracelet around her ankle! What's not clear is whether the bars she'll be behind now are those at her own home or perhaps at her parents' or another home ...
The AP also report that Paris' release was motivated by an unspecified medical condition. X17online reported yesterday that our inside source said Paris was refusing her meals in jail. Might this be that mystery medical condition, that Paris was sick for a good homecooked meal?
Wouldn't it have been easier to sentence Paris to forty-three days of house arrest in the first place?
