Paris Hilton Pleads Not Guilty To DUI

Paris Hilton entered a plea of "not guilty" to DUI charges earlier today stemming from her very public arrest last September for driving "erratically." Girlfriend took a Breathalyzer test and was charged with a DUI after blowing a .08, the minimum legal level in the state of California. Paris' attorney filed the plea; the heiress herself was not required to be present in the courtroom, although she's slated to return on January 23rd (we'll be there!).

0.008 is the MINIMUM in California. She shouldn't have been arrested in the first place.
She should have refused to take the test and insisted on having a blood test. By the time they got her to a lab, her alcohol level would have dropped even more.
She doesn't have to be in court because she is a first 'offender'.
And handcuffing her was really stupid
and unnecessary.
But I have to say, few people looks as good as Paris Hilton in a mugshot. Yea Paris.

That's a madcap EU race for rich people with very expensive cars, usually involving plenty of alcohol and crazy antics.
It often goes from castle to castle over several EU countries LOL.
I think they said this year it starts in France and ends in some eastern country.
So maybe Paris will get to race her Bentley on the German Autobahn which has no speed limits.Wooooosh. Such fun. I WANT TO BE A HILTON!!!

This isnt "law and order" people. A DUI is a misdemeanor and anybody can (and usually do)have their lawyer plead in their absence. As long as its a simple misdemeanor, it doesnt matter if its a first or second offence. Also, only a fool pleads guilty to a DUI. Remember that Paris will be facing an elected official (the judge) as well as a prosecutor who look all the better for being as harsh as possible with a DUI offender. By pleading guilty, Paris would give them carte blanche to rack up points with groups like MADD. Pleading not guilty is the only way a lawyer is capable of negotiating a deal with the prosecution. Understand that a judge in a DUI case doesnt generally read an arrest report and will rely on the prosecutors suggestions. When it comes to DUI, you must understand that you are not innocent until proven guilty, a prosecutor does not have to fight to secure a conviction and improprities commited by a police officer (lies, mistakes, etc.) will not be taken into consideration. As a matter of fact, even if you feel that you have more than enough proof to prove your innocence before a jury of your peers, you wont be granted that right. Last year I was involved in a fenderbender in my boyfriend's car. He was royally pissed and it took plenty of sucking to get the smile back on his face. Wink,wink, that's the American way.
