Paul Newman Dead At 83

photo courtesy Getty ImagesLegendary actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman, died of cancer on Friday at his Connecticut home at age 83, according to his spokeswoman, Marni Tomijanovic.
Newman appeared in countless classic films like Cat on the Hot Tin Roof, The Hustler, Cool Hand Luke, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. His career began in the 1950s and remained strong through his eventual Oscar win in 1986 for The Color of Money -- his eighth nomination.
Later in his life, Newman became known for his Newman's Own line of food products, the profits from which are donated to charities such as Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang camps and has given away more than $200 million in support of terminal ill children.
Newman is survived by his wife Joanne Woodward, his wife since 1958, and their five children.

Love looking at this actor from his early years. He was so handsome! I wish you would add pics from his early years. He blows Brad Pitt and every other actor out of the water on the hotness scale. Also, he has done more for charity than the Brangelinas of the world as well.
What a great loss. Just goes to show you the mentality of those who come onto this site..one legitimate comment on the death of a legend and great humanitarian. Oh but look...Britney can carry 2 iced capps!!!! I really did expect it tho.

this so sad, he was so talented, amaze me he was still with his wife for so long(50 years), u dont see that this days, thats what i call true love, god bless his family

But by the way, he and Joanne Woodward only have three children together, the other two were from a previously marriege.
Definitely brings tears to my eyes. What a wonderful man, not only a good actor, but gave back to the community and in all the temptations of Hollywood maintained his integrity to his family.

This comes as sad news. Paul Newman showed he was not just one of the great actors of our time, but a person who cared deeply for others. A class act until the end. His loss will be deeply missed by this world.
