Former Idol Producer Says He'd "Replace Entire Judging Panel" And Bring Back Paula Abdul!

American Idol's ratings have been falling since Paula Abdul left the show, and adding Ellen Degeneres to the panel -- which was intended to boost viewership -- has only made things worse!
One Idol producer says it's not enough to replace just one person. At this point, the only thing that can save the show would be to get rid of Simon, Randy, Kara AND Ellen...and bring back Paula!
"I would replace the entire judging panel," former executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told Zap2it. "I don't think it really works replacing one person. They don't have a great deal of chemistry at the moment. Ryan and Simon have fallen out. It's uncomfortable to watch. Ellen hasn't worked out as well as we would have hoped."
His dream panel?
"Elton John, Usher and Paula Abdul."
Paula's denied rumors of a return to Idol in the past, but perhaps if they really do eliminate her former frenemies, she'd reconsider?
She certainly was in a great mood yesterday when she was out shopping in Beverly Hills! Maybe Nigel's really on to something...

They need to fire the dumb ass producers who allowed this to happen.
Simon, Paula and Randy were a good fit and kept it moving and exciting. Kara? I like Kara but I don't really think she added that much to the chemistry of the judges.
As for Ellen? I wouldn't watch her if she jumped off a bridge.
As for me, I have not tuned in once since Paula left and don't intend to. I think the show can only go down from here.

krama ! they forget she was the part of the draw her simon and Randy combination with Rayan that made it what it is . A combination of personalites.
Maybe people are just sick of the show and no matter who the judges were the ratings would keep going down anyway. How many years will people sit and watch kareoke anyway before it gets old?
Ratings were falling before Paula left. It's been on for awhile and like all shows people are just going to get sick of it. I expect next year will be the final year since Simon will be leaving this year.
I never thought Ellen would boost ratings. I never pictured her as part of the panel, and have already stopped watching the show. Meh.
Keep Simon. Get rid of Kara because she thinks she is way too hot and it does not come across well for the audience. Get rid of Randy because he says nothing that is relevant. I would get the little Doogie actor because he was funny and honest. I also liked Katy Perry because she put Kara in her place. Please not Usher!
Ellen sucks and doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. They should have just kept it at three.
Ellen just wanted another damn platform to push her gay agenda. She's tried with her comments a few times, but people are damn sick of it. The show is suppose to be for entertainment purposes, just like her talk show, but she won't leave well enough alone. She just needs to shut up and go the hell home. Randy, Kara and Simon can manage things just fine. I mean, really.
Ellen brings nothing to the show nor does Kara. Either way, this show is on it's last legs. Just let it die, it's getting old.
I don't think the problem is with the judges. It's with the singers. They need to have talent and charisma. Some of them have talent, but none of them have charisma.
Degenerate and Kara were the downfall of Idol.
Gay political agenda ruined the show.
Keep Simon. He is the only one that gives a true opinion. Kara is getting a little better but forget "Dog" and Ellen. His "Dog" and hand signals are retarded. Ellen is boring with a capital B. You can dump Ryan and that will help. His "jokes" fall flat and his personality SUCKS. He is no way as "cute" as HE thinks he is. He is a big drag on the show.
