Richard Gere Trades In Gerbil For Lama
I guess everyone's going on vacation right now - first we lose Uma to St. Barth's, and now Richard Gere's gone halfway around the world to India! The Pretty Woman star (and wife Carey Lowell) visited Tibetan settlements in Kamatka and they were even allowed to lay a building's foundation stone in the presence of the Dalai Lama - no small privilege for a devoted Buddhist like Gere!

These pictures of Gere hanging out with the Dalai Lama probably won't endear Gere to the Chinese - but then again, that's probably a lost cause!
