Rihanna Tells Oprah That Chris Brown "Needed Help" Following 2009 Attack

Rihanna is pouring out her heart and tears to Oprah Winfrey when asked about her past relationship with Chris Brown.
During an interview on Oprah's Next Chapter, RiRi talked about the infamous 2009 beating in which Brown punched the singer. She tells Lady O:
- "It was a weird, confusing space to be in ... because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help ... and who's going to help him?"
After admitting she lost her "best friend," Rihanna adds, "Nobody's going to say he needs help. Everybody's going to say he's a monster without looking at the source ... and I was more concerned about him."
