Rob Pattinson: "Music Is My Backup Plan"

Ok, we really doubt Rob Pattinson's acting career is going to tank - after all, he was great in Harry Potter, and his upcoming role in Twilight is practically getting as much hype as Leonardo got for Titanic! However, in a recent interview with the LA Times, the hunky 22-year-old reveals that he's prepared if the whole acting thing doesn't pan out. "Music is my backup plan if acting fails," he says. "I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket."
As you may know, Rob has a song on the official Twilight soundtrack titled "Never Think," and he's even performed at Hollywood venues such as Whiskey a Go Go. But, the talented Brit doesn't want his fans to think that he's using acting as a way to launch a singing gig. "That’s what I was scared about, it looks like I’m trying to get a music career out of it or something," he said. "I’ve never really recorded anything - I just played in pubs and stuff – and I really didn’t want it to look like I was trying to cash in. I hope it doesn’t come across as that. I’m not going to be doing any music videos or anything."
First of all, we find it cute that Rob is so modest, and second, he really needs to rethink the whole music video thing! We (along with the thousands of other Rob-sessed ones) would love nothing more than to see him rocking out on MTV - he can be just like Johnny Depp, Jared Leto and all those other sexy actor/rockers!

X17 this is a nice article. I may have to rethink my views on you. Thank you for nice comments on Rob. He's wonderful and I'm usually a cynical devil and dont lik any of the leading actors but I think he's special.
X17 you are getting a heart. I'm stunned. Rob's getting to you too. I;d rather he focused 100% on acting as I think he can get the same quality of roles as Di Caprio if he work hard enough. This is only the beginning of a huge career for Rob.

Celebuzz has included a new article on Rob's new film Little Ashes in which he plays Salvador Dali. Rob has nude scenes in this film, a gay sex scene and even a masturbation scene so its fair to say he is trying to break away from safe roles. Why dont you try and gt some film images for the site.
Rob's a marvelosu actor. I loved him as Daniel Gale in Bad Mothers Handbook. He makes a great geek in films. I bet Di Caprio cant do that well.
I want him to focus on acting. He's so good I dont want him distracted. Having said that I;d love him to play John Lennon in a bio pic or even Jeff Buckley. Bio films are planned for both singers.
