'Twilight' Sequels Already In The Works
Posted on Fri Nov 14, 2008 09:35 AM PDT
We've still got to wait another week before Twilight hits the big screen, but the studio behind the vampire flick is already making sequel plans.
Summit Entertainment has purchased the rights to the next 3 novels in Stephenie Meyer's blockbuster vampire series.
Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted Twilight for the screen, has been hired to write scripts for New Moon and Eclipse - the 2nd and 3rd books in the series. No writer is yet attached to the 4th book, Breaking Dawn.
But the big question: Will the studio be able to get Robert Pattinson to sign on for the sequels? We can't imagine anyone else as Edward!
Do you think Twilight will be bigger than Harry Potter?

if you watch his interview on Extra he states that he is already signed on for two more of the films.
He's already signed on for New Moon & Eclipse. They all have. The only one they aren't signed on for is Breaking Dawn because the weren't orginially planning on making that movie.
I am sure that they HAD to put that option in all the contracts. Just like the Harry Potter films, when someone "becomes" a character, it is really hard to change the actor.
