Russell Crowe Storms Out Of Robin Hood Interview After Journalist Insults His Accent
Posted on Fri May 14, 2010 08:56 AM PDT
Russell Crowe got so angry when an interviewer said that he heard a "bit of an Irish accent" in the Australian Crowe's portrayal of the very English Robin Hood in the new Ridley Scott film, that he walked out in the midst of questioning!
"There are hints to me of Irish," BBC journalist Mark Lawson said in the above clip when talking about the character's accent in the film. "You've got dead ears, mate, seriously dead ears if you think there's an Irish accent," Crowe responded.
Then, Lawson asked if perhaps he was going for a "Northern English" accent. An annoyed Crowe said, "No I was going for an Italian, yeah. Missed it? F*ck me. Anyway."
Lawson tried to change the subject, asking Crowe about a new report that says he didn't want to deliver the famous Gladiator line, "I'll take my revenge in this life or the next," but by then Crowe had enough and got up to walk out, saying "I don't get the Irish thing by the way."
Celebs have known to get testy during pressers when you say the wrong thing. Mel Gibson called an interviewer an "a$$hole" during a presser for Edge of Darkness back in February, and Xtina got testy when someone dared to cough during a press tour for her new album!
At least Crowe didn't have a telephone handy...
Jeez, calm down peeps!
