Ryan Gosling, amid his retreat from acting, is giving fans a taste of his pre-sabattical work in this teaser for his upcoming film Only God Forgives.

The clip cuts between the filming of scenes for the movie and the behind-the-scenes talks between Gosling and the movie's writer-director Nicolas Winding Refn. In one office meeting, Refn tells Ryan: "The sexuality of violence is the more you engage in the build up, compared to the act itself... it's the build up to the slicings then it's back, then it's in again ... Violence is like sex, it's all about the build-up." Swoon!

The movie is about Julian [Ryan], a drug smuggler in Bangkok's criminal underworld, who faces more complications when his mother pushes him to find and kill the person responsible for his brother's death. Only God Forgives is slated to premiere at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival this month and will make its US debut at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June.

Eva Mendes and boyfriend Ryan Gosling arrived back at their N.Y.C hotel last night, but they must be trying to keep their relationship out of the press, because the pair made their entrance separately to avoid being photographed together!

Ryan Gosling unwound at Laurel Tavern last night, and the hunky actor spent the evening hanging out with a bunch of ladies, none of whom were his girlfriend Eva Mendes! Although one of the women looked a lot like the Gangster Squad star's lady love!

We haven't caught the couple together for some time now, and it's a little bizarre that the Crazy, Stupid, Love star was out on the town without his girlfriend, even though she was in town! We just caught Miss Mendes strolling through downtown L.A. with a female friend on Saturday.

He's arguably one of the most desired men in Hollywood, but the Canadian hottie doesn't agree with his sex symbol status!

"I'm as uncomfortable with it as I am talking about it. I know just from being a guy and looking at a billboard and you're like: 'That guy's not a sex symbol. They're trying to sell that on us? No way! That's never gonna stick.' And then suddenly he's like a huge deal and you can't believe it. I used to hate on those guys and now I am one," he told Metro recently before adding, "You show me someone who really thinks that and I'll show you a liar. It's not true."

Art imitates life (almost) for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes as they bring their romantic chemistry on-screen for their new flick, The Place Beyond The Pines!

Directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine), Gosling stars as Luke, a professional motorcycle stunt rider who's forced to rob banks in order to provide for his newborn son and ex-girlfriend, played by Mendes. His newfound life of crime crosses paths with a rookie cop (Bradley Cooper) which leaves him on the run in the riveting drama.

The release of the Canadian cutie's upcoming movie Gangster Squad has been delayed to allow film bosses to edit out a scene featuring a shooting in a cinema, in light of last week's massacre in Aurora, Colorado. The mobster flick was supposed to be released in September, but it has been pushed back to January.

We guess this gives Ry Ry more time to sculpt his bod!
