Yesterday a solo Ryan Gosling ran errands in Malibu, and later on we caught him shopping with girlfriend Eva Mendes and tending to their parking meter.

The two started dating about ten months ago, and despite the slight difference in age (he's 31, she's 38) and the fact that well, he could have any other woman in Hollywood right now, they're still going strong. Of course, this isn't his first trip to Cougarville ... Back in 2002, the Drive hottie was with Sandra Bullock for about a year, and she's 47!

The Canadian hunk recently returned from filming his upcoming movie Only God Forgives in Asia, and he has been taking advantage of his free time on the West Coast before promotional duties kick in for Gangster Squad, which hits theaters Sept. 7.

The 31-year-old actor has been dating Training Day actress Eva Mendes since last fall, and the couple seems to still be in the honeymoon stage, jetting to see each other on location and enjoying romantic dinners all over the world. Rumor has it the Crazy, Stupid, Love star is the frontrunner to play Christian Grey in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, so the brunette beauty better be ready to fend off hoards of female fans!

According to IMDb, the film is about a Bangkok police lieutenant and a gangster who settle their differences in a boxing match, and it is written and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who also worked with Ryan on Drive.

Just a few hours after we caught him spending the day with his mom, Ryan Gosling and ladylove Eva Mendes arrived at JFK airport together on Monday, to take separate flights out of NYC.

The pair are ending a romantic three-day vacation in the Big Apple, where they rang in the New Year together, and Mendes also met Ryan’s mom for the first time. It must be getting serious!

Gosling is flying home to LA to start prepping for awards season -- he's nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor, for his role in The Ides of March. Eva and Ryan still haven't gone public with their relationship, we think awards season would be the perfect time!

The Artist picked up six nominations at today's Golden Globe Award nominations announcement. Harvey Weinstein's silent film is a front-runner this awards season.

But the Hollywood Foreign Press Association made some decidedly different choices than the Screen Actors Guild yesterday, with that organization's award nominations announcement. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was snubbed Wednesday by SAG, while the film picked up two nods today for -- one for Mara Rooney in the Best Drama Actress category and for Best Score.

The Globes has set up an interesting face-off between Ides of March co-stars George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, both nominated in the Best Actor category, though Clooney for The Descendants. But Clooney's got enough other chances to pick up a prize ... he was also nominated for Best Director for Ides and the film is named in the Best Motion Picture and Best Original Screenplay categories. Clooney's dramedy The Descendants is also vying for Best Motion Picture. And Gosling also has a chance to win an award with his Best Comedy-Musica Actor nom for Crazy Stupid Love.

The Help picked up five nods, as did Clooney's Descendants.

Brad Pitt (Moneyball) and Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar) scored Best Drama Actor nominations.

Other notable noms are those in the Best motion Picture, Comedy-Musical category -- Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, Bridesmaids, The Artist, 50/50, and My Week With Marilyn.
