Redmond O'Neal, 26, was pulled over early this morning in Santa Monica for running a red light, and during the stop, officers found heroin in his car. The 26-year-old redhead is the son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett.

A public information officer released the following statement:

"At approximately 8:45am a motor officer observed an argument at a store on Lincoln corner of Michigan. O'Neal was one of those involved in the argument. The officer then watched as he got into his vehicle. He proceeded to go north bound on Lincoln before turning west bound on Olympic, it was at this time the officer observed him going through the red turn arrow."

The officer added, "A search of his vehicle was done and narcotics were recovered."

June 25th 2009 wasn't just about mourning the loss of Michael Jackson -- beloved TV icon Farrah Fawcett also passed away that day, and yesterday her former partner Ryan O'Neal and son Redmond attended a memorial in her honor.

Ryan looked a bit sad as he sipped on a mimosa, but he did seem to perk up when we spotted him chatting with his 25-year-old son. Ryan, along with Farrah's best friend Alana Stewart and several other close pals also dedicated a cancer research foundation in her name, which funds alternative cancer research and treatment methods.

Remember when Ryan O'Neal hit on his daughter Tatum at Farrah Fawcett's funeral? "I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it's my daughter. It's so sick," he later explained. Ick. That's all I think of when I see the two of 'em together now!

Ryan and Tatum dined out at Madeo last night and posed for pix in front of the paps. Talk about awkward!

Farrah Fawcett was noticeably absent from the In Memoriam tribute at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards last night, and many folks were curious to see how her longtime companion Ryan O'Neal would react to the glaring omission.

X17 photographers caught up with O'Neal in Malibu today, and he seemed quite upset and shocked about the snub. We asked if he could explain the omission, and Ryan told X17online exclusively:

"I’m just as confused as everyone about it. They have to explain it, I can’t."

Leslie Unger, spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, tells E!, "I would not say that it was an oversight. No matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can't be."

But Ryan wasn't completely bitter about it. He told us he was writing a letter to the Academy to voice his (and many Farrah fans') dismay about her absence.

"Maybe next year they'll slip her in!" he told us.

This kid just can't stay clean!

Ryan O'Neal's son Redmond was on a 24-hour pass from Impact - a drug and alcohol treatment center - but when he returned, the staff noticed that he "seemed altered," reports Radar.

Redmond was then taken into custody and now faces up to six years in jail for violating the probation terms of his last drug offense.

After appearing in court today, Redmond will return on February 2nd for a progress report.

Doesn't sound too promising! But let's hope this kid can finally kick his habit.

Uh, what would Farrah say? Ryan O'Neal clearly has no problem hanging out with a bunch of lovely ladies on the beach in Malibu!
