Farrah Fawcett Shares Her Story In NBC Documentary

On Friday, NBC will air "Farrah's Story," a two hour documentary that the Charlie's Angels actress began filming when she was first diagnosed with cancer in September of 2006. The doc gives viewers an inside look at Farrah's struggle over the past three years, and The Today Show aired several clips this morning. It just breaks our hearts to watch this (especially the more recent footage of Farrah in the hospital), but we have to applaud the actress and her family for being brave enough to share their story with the rest of the world.

Ryan O'Neal sat down with Today co-host Meredith Vieira to discuss the documentary, and you can see the pain in his eyes when he says, "I think she may have believed that she would survive. That's not how it's going. She's had a terrible time in the last year, a terrible time." On Farrah's determination to document her journey, O'Neal added, "There were times that she got terribly ill and began to vomit. She didn't care. She was possessed. She's been on film all her life, since she was 19 or 20, you know. So, I guess, no big deal."

O'Neal also opened up about his troubled son Redmond, telling Viera, "He's in jail so much," but he added that mother and son do share a strong bond, as evident in their recent visit. Ryan was temporarily released from jail to visit his mother at home, and O'Neal says, "He just wanted to see her, to hold her, to apologize. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgave him."

We send Farrah and her family our best...our hearts really go out to them right now. And yes, we cried when we watched the doc.

I think it is such bullshit. He was arrested last year for drug possession. Yeah, that is what every woman with cancer needs in her life...some low life husband/boyfriend. He talks about how his son has been in jail, but he is one to talk.

God bless her, I hope the rest of her journey isn't too hard, but I feel no sympathy towards Ryan or Redmond.

God Bless Farrah and all her family...no matter what they have done, we are all not as perfect either in our lives. Everyone goes on the wrong path at some point in their lives. Love and support, not hate is what people need, especially when they are at their lowest point in their lives. Losing his mother and not being able to see her when he needs her more than anything like she also needs her son...so sad. I hope Redmond works his life out and his father and I pray Farrah goes peacefully..God Bless her.

This was such a moving clip to watch. For anyone who has lost a loved one through cancer or any type of illness, it shows such emotion and sadness yet beauty also. You can see the rollercoaster of emotions that Ryan O' Neal and his family are going through. It is so courageous that Farrah would allow herself to be filmed when she is so unwell. I hope she finds the miracle she deserves.

God Bless you Farrah, stay strong. I am praying for you! God might just need another "angel" in heaven.....so you may be too good for this place. Whatever may be, bless you sweet angel.....

Its a true picture of true life.
Its horrible, but may be needed to educate others and open others eyes.
Its not about ones faults its about love and understanding we all live in glass houses. So no pointing fingers now!
Now is not the time for that. Now is the time to be caring loving and learning from what others chose to share, they did not have to share a thing.Learn from this change something bad in you and remember the good in all.Much love to the whole famliy sorry for your loss.
