Kids are with Ryan and Reese 50/50.

They are happy to have a good father, Reese Witherspoon is a lousy mother.

I'll tell you what she oughta be thinking. She should be thinking that it's nice her kids get along with their future step-mother. And I'll bet that is what she thinks. And I notice that Abbie seems to be more careful to guard Ava's privacy than her own mother is. But that could be Ryan's choice.

Why is it that you say a father "plays" parent but a mother is a parent? Step out of the 1950's.

I'm sure the kids wouldn't be quite so happy with them, had Reese not ok'd it. She seems very level headed with her kids, and wants the best for them. I also think Abbie might be closer to Avas level(mentally), maybe more broadminded with her. Reese is her mother, and anyone that has a daughter, knows what I'm talking about. It's good Ryans spending some positive time with them. I'm sure him and Reese both, do what's best for the kids, regardless of any hard feelings they might have towards one another.

Anon 4:19, I don't think most people know what you're talking about. How would Abbie, a 26 year old mature woman and successful sophisticated actress, be closer to Ava mentally? Ava is a little girl. I'm sure Abbie is a loving adult influence on her. I don't think Ryan would be interested in anyone who wasn't. His kids seem to be top priority in his life. I do agree that's it's nice both parents try to do what's best for the children. That ain't easy no matter what the circumstances.

I'm sure she's thinking how nice it is that when she can't be with her kids, they are with their dad and his very lovely girlfriend.

X17 sucks. They think Jake is a great stepfather to Ava and Deacon but couldn't care less about Ryan's feelings. But think Abbie is a total witch for being close to the kids. How does that make any kind of sense. Reese would want her kids to be happy and secure. I doubt it would make her happy if her kids didn't like Abbie and were unhappy whenever they were with their father.

Does Ryan ever work anymore?

He just finished a movie but its another indy so if you don't look for his movies you won't see them. He had one out in the UK this year but its only coming to the US on DVD.

Why do you ask what films Ryan is making when you clearly don't follow his career? IMO Ryan makes very interesting choices in his films and had done for a long time. His latest is from S.Africa and will be released late this year or early next.

divorce/splitting up with kids sucks, but they all seem to be making the best of it. FYI, Ryan turned down "Star Trek" and "GI Joe" and opted for smaller films that still make him a million dollars and he gets to spend more time with his kids. Small films take 7 weeks to shoot. Star Trek size films take 6-7 months to film. Ryan doesnt want to be a star. He wants to be a father who also works as an actor. Haters should hate themselves, RP and RW split 3 years ago.
