Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson announced their split weeks ago, but today the hunky actor filed divorce papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

In the court papers, neither of them are asking for spousal support.

"The big problem with their relationship is the distance. They spent a lot of time apart when they are working ... she's been unhappy for a while," a source told UsWeekly.

The couple released a joint statement saying, "We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it."

Reynolds, 34, and Johansson, 26, who were engaged for only five months, got married in Canada back in 2008.

Guess they meant what they said about keeping things civil!

Former couple turned best friends Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were spotted enjoying a "friendly meal" together at Blue Ribbon restaurant in NYC on Friday night, reports People.

"They were smiling and laughing the whole time. The tone was light and fun despite the untruths that the media is working up. 
They aren't reconciling. This was just two people who were married being civil and friendly," their source says.

Hmm, is it possible the divorcing couple are truly being this healthy about the demise of their private relationship? Or is this very public meal just a publicity stunt?

The two got married in September 2008 after a five month engagement, and even though we're heard a rumor last month that there were marital troubles, we never thought they'd actually call it quits!

Think this is just a trial separation? Or will they file for divorce?

Ryan's Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively weighs in on Ryan's perfect physique, adding, "If you saw him coming to work at five in the morning, when I could barely open my eyes and he'd been up for two hours in the gym. If everyone had that discipline, they, too, could have abs of steel." But would they have his sense of humor and modesty? Prob not!

ScarJo and Ryan's dream house includes an oversized swimming pool with views from downtown LA all the way to the ocean. There's also a giant master bedroom (with built-in mini garden) and two children's bedrooms that were converted to a library and office. There's also a guest bedroom and three full baths.

On getting hurled through the air on a wire 60 feet per second to create the illusion of flight, Ryan says, “The first time you do it, you’re deeply considering an adult diaper.” Ha! So how did he keep his sexy bod in tip top shape for the movie? "You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips.” Hey, we can appreciate it...even through the superhero suit, we're definitely drooling!

Ryan even opened up about ScarJo's recent role in Iron Man 2, remarking, “We have a lot of comic books lying around the house – more than the average young married couple.”
