Ryan Seacrest, Andy Cohen In Running To Replace Regis Philbin
Posted on Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:20 AM PDT

Regis Philbin, 79, is leaving ABC's Live! with Regis & Kelly in November, and, reportedly, there are some big names on the list of possible replacements for him!
Rumor has it Ryan Seacrest, 36, Andy Cohen, 43, and actor Mark Consuelos, 40, are all possible contenders. Consuelos is married to Kelly Ripa, Philbin's co-host. Seacrest, of course, has plenty of hosting experience between his gigs on American Idol, E! and KIIS FM radio. Cohen is an exec at Bravo! and hosts the channel's late-night talk show, Watch What Happens L!ve.
Cohen and Consuelos have both filled in for Philbin recently, perhaps as auditions of sorts. Philbin first made the announcement five months ago.
Philbin holds the record for most hours on camera in the U.S., according to Guinness World Records. He has hosted the show since it premiered 28 years ago.
Kelly Ripa told David Letterman what she thinks of the potential replacements on his late-night show; see what she said after the jump!
Ripa told Letterman she thinks Andy Cohen would be a great co-anchor, but as for her husband? "I think we would kill each other!" she joked.
Philbin and Ripa both won Daytime Emmy Awards for best talk-show host Sunday, an honor they shared with Dr. Mehmet Oz of The Dr. Oz Show.
It was Philbin's fifth Daytime Emmy; he won best game show host and best talk show host in 2001 and a lifetime achievement award in 2008.
