Sean Penn's been divorced from ex-wife Robin Wright for almost three years now, but it seems as if time hasn't healed all wounds for the two-time Oscar winner.

"There is no shame in saying that we all want to be loved by someone. As I look back over my life in romance, I don't feel I've ever had that," the 52-year-old Gangster Squad actor shared in the latest issue of Esquire. "I have been the only one that was unaware of the fraud in a few of these circumstances blindly."

Penn was married to Wright from 1996 to 2010 but claimed to have learned the truth about their marriage after it was over.

"When you get divorced, all the truths come out, you sit there and go, 'What the f--- was I doing? What was I doing believing that this person was invested in this way?' Which is a fantastically strong humiliation in the best sense," he added. "It can make somebody very bitter and very hard and closed off, but I find it does the opposite to me."

Despite his bleak feelings through that period, which included his son Hopper's skateboarding accident, Penn said that his actions in Haiti helped put things in perspective.

"The road started with the most obvious kind of trauma -- my son's head -- and then to get to a place that had been just so devastated and traumatized, and then to see that in fact most of the trauma actually predated the earthquake," the co-founder of J/P Haitian Relief Organization said. "You had a country that had never experienced anything that related to comfort, and out of that you had great trauma -- but also this great strength that, I think, we all benefited from."

Sean Penn grabbed a bite at Italian eatery Madeo last night, and his date didn't seem to want her picture taken as she hid in the front seat and sped off with the A-list actor after their romantic two hour meal. We wonder who the lucky lady is?!

Whoever it is might want to take note of the recent reports that the Tree of Life star is still infatuated with ex-wife Madonna. According to Us, the 52-year-old has undeniable chemistry with Madge, even after all these years!

Penn recently attended the Queen of Pop's MDNA concert in L.A, where a source revealed, "Their chemistry was off the charts. Madonna seemed to be performing entirely for Sean. And he was saying things like 'Amazing!' and 'She's so hot!'"

So could there be a reunion for this volatile couple? Not quite...

"They've remained close friends. But they are fire and fire together romantically. She can only be with someone she can control. Madonna's friends wish she'd get back with Sean. He will always be the love of her life," the source added.

Maybe now we know why his mystery gal didn't want to be seen!

What a show of support for your former flame!

Sean Penn jetted out of LAX today after taking in his ex-wife Madonna's concert at the Staples Center last night. We wonder if the Fast Times At Ridgemont High actor went backstage after the show to congratulate his former lady love on the success of her MDNA tour?

Speaking of lady loves, we wonder if the Gangster Squad star is still hot and heavy with Petra Nemcova? The bad boy and the model are both big supporters of the relief efforts in Haiti and have enjoyed on-and-off romance since the A-list actor split from wife Robin Wright and cooled off with Scarlett Johansson.

We bet Madge still has a soft spot for him!

Sean Penn hit the road Saturday, taking a long bike ride through Malibu.

The actor just turned 52 last week but still has a better body than a lot of guys half his age!

And while the actor's kept busy working in films, his nonprofit group in Haiti has occupied much of his time. In fact, Penn's J/P HRO group (check out his shirt) was just selected by the Haitian government to lead the demolition of the Haitian National Palace, which will begin next week.

After the 2010 earthquake that destroyed much of the island nation's already-weak infrastructure, Penn has become the unofficial ambassador-at-large for the country in helping to clean and rebuild. Through his group, Penn offered to provide the engineers and equipment necessary to demolish the government building at no cost.

The building has become a symbol of the devastation caused by the natural disaster and Penn hopes it's removal from the landscape will mark a turning point in the rebuilding of Haiti.

While everyone else is celebrating America's birthday at parties and the like, the two-time Oscar winning actor decided to hit the gym in Malibu to burn some lbs. Love the dedication!

There have been recent reports that the 51-year-old actor has rekindled his romance with Petra Nemcova after they were spotted together in Haiti. That's always a good reason to work on your fitness!

Sean Penn and Petra Nemcova hit the red carpet in Cannes for Penn's black-tie event to bring awareness to his fundraiser ... Haiti: Carnival in Cannes.

The benefit was created to raise money for the victims of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. At a press conference before the event, Penn said the following about the cause:

"The reason we have Haiti fatigue is because there was never a commitment in the first place. It is time for our formidable and elegant president to stand side by side with the new president of Haiti."

Penn created the J/P Haitian Relief Organization following the earthquake in the hopes of raising money for those affected by the natural disaster.

Looks like these two have rekindled their romance!

Not only are Sean Penn and Petra Nemcova hosting a charity event to support Haiti this weekend, but we spotted the two enjoying a very romantic dinner at Tetou restaurant in Cannes, France this evening.

The couple first hooked up in 2008, and though they appeared to move on quickly from their fling (Penn, 51, got back together with ex-wife Robin Wright and in 2011 he was linked to Scarlett Johansson; Nemcova, 32, was engaged to beau Jamie Belman from December 2010 to April 2012), they're back on now!

A source at the restaurant tells X17online exclusively that the two "spent more time flirting than eating," and Nemcova couldn't keep her hands off of her former flame.

Not so fast! The I Am Sam star was spotted grocery shopping on Easter Sunday with a beautiful young girl, and at first we assumed the Hollywood bad boy had a new love, but it turns out the stunner is actually his 21-year-old daughter Dylan. We guess good looks just run in the family!

The 51-year-old actor looks half his age... those beach runs are really doing the trick! Although, he's barely recognizable in his new film role for This Must Be The Place. The Fast Times At Ridgemont High leading man will play Cheyenne, an American rockstar living in bored and aimless retirement in Dublin.
