Shakira Teams Up With Soccer Stud Boyfriend For A Good Cause

Now this is the definition of a good girlfriend.

Shakira was at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., Monday to unveil plans to restore a Miami-area YMCA. In conjunction with Shakira's Pies Descalzos foundation and FC Barcelona, the soccer club that the singer's BF Gerard Piqué plays for, a grant will be given to turn the old building into a sports facility that will use soccer as a tool to educate local youth.

At the press conference, the Colombian singer said:

"Hispanics in the United States have everything to gain ... We have the talent, we have the will. I truly think that with more education and more sports, we can achieve the unthinkable. We can have the ball on our side of the court and play the best of moves.”

Along with his teammates Carles Puyol and Sergio Busquets, Gerard was right by Shakira's side at the press conference. Then the dedicated athlete went right back to practice Tuesday in Miami.
