On Sunday Shia LaBeouf was spotted enjoying a coffee and a smoke in Studio City, and we caught the 25-year-old actor reading a new script. We're not sure if it's The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman or Horns, but either way, he's got some heavy reading!

Charlie Countryman is about a man who falls in love with a woman claimed by a violent crime boss, while Horns follows a 26-year-old who grows horns from his head after the death of his girlfriend.

Marilyn Manson and Shia LaBeouf are BFFs -- who knew?

The Transformers star took his new girlfriend, Karolyn Pho, to a special screening of Manson's new music video (directed by LaBeouf), "Born Villain", at Hennessey + Ingalls bookstore in LA, on Thursday.

Shia and Marilyn met at a Kills concert, where LaBeouf, a longtime Manson fan, approached the controversial singer and struck up a conversation that sparked a life-long friendship.

LaBeouf told MTV News on his BFF: "Marilyn Manson to me is an indelible figure. He's a big deal to me, and in my childhood, I don't know of a scarier figure in art. He, in my teenage years, was the scariest thing in the world, so part of me has always been intrigued."

Shia LaBeouf may be a major movie star, but that doesn't mean he has to run a comb through his hair before leaving the house!

The low-key actor has been enjoying a successful summer with Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which recently surpassed the $900 million mark worldwide, and is rapidly on its way to earning a billion dollars by the end of the summer.

But the 25-year-old is kissing the robot franchise goodbye, for now, and is gearing up to star in the Robert Redford-directed film, The Company You Keep. LaBeouf will play a young journalist hunting for a former Weather Underground militant (Redford) who has been on the run from the FBI for decades, according to Variety.

Company is set to begin filming Vancouver this September.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon the third installment in the action series by Michael Bay, pulled in $30 million Friday, putting its total domestic haul to-date at nearly $96 million.

Dark Moon, starring the new-to-the-trilogy Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the series' star Shia LaBeouf, got a jump on the holiday weekend, opening Tuesday night in special 3D sneaks. The film's foreign box office is impressive as well, grossing $66 million through Thursday for an international total of at least $161.7 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The industry publication estimates the film could take in as much as $370 million, worldwide, by end-of-day Monday.

Meanwhile, the new Tom Hanks-Julia Roberts film Larry Crowne pulled in an older crowd, with 71% of the audience over 50!

On the flip side, Selena Gomez's Monte Carlo, grossed $3 million on Friday and 61% of its audience were under 25; 82% were female. The movie cost $30 million to make and is expected to bring in a low-teens figure by the end of the holiday weekend. Let's hope it will! Reviews, for the most part, have pitched it as a fluffy teen flick -- that said, it's that teenage disposable income so many marketers try to reach so maybe with Selena's name on it, the film can do just that!

Shia LaBeouf stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his latest film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but talk quickly turned to his encounter with the beautiful Selena Gomez backstage at the MTV Movie Awards.

Turns out Selena has a huge crush for Mr. LaBeouf! Hmm...what does Selena's beau Justin Bieber think about this one?

Shia says there's nothing for the 17-year-old singer to worry about it. He also tells Jimmy about his encounter meeting the Biebs. Shia says:

"He rolls up with a huge squad of dudes ... he has to. He has this presence like Buddha or a young prince. I went up to say, ‘Hi’ and the security is like, 'Whoa, whoa' and ready to take me down. Bieber does this two-finger wave like, 'He's OK."

Shia LaBeouf made headlines Monday when Details magazine released its interview with the star, in which he revealed that he and former Transformers Megan Fox had hooked up.

It seems a day of having your name in news all over the world will spark a change of heart.

At Tuesday night's Transformers: Dark of the Moon NYC premiere, he told Access Hollywood:

"I just turned 25, and I’m learning how to edit myself and say 'no comment' now.”

Indeed.

Shia's Transformers co-star Patrick Dempsey stuck up for him, but said Shia has a lot to learn.

“He’s always very candid, that’s who he is and you have to respect that in him. He’s a young man who’s learning a great deal every day. He’s a great actor to work with… I have nothing but good things to say about him. He’s a really nice guy.”

So far, Fox has not commented on the story.

Shia LaBeouf has given a personal, revealing interview to Details magazine, and in it he says he and Megan Fox hooked up while filming Transformers ... and she might have been dating hubby Brian Austin Green at the time.

When asked if he and Megan hooked up, Shia "nods affirmatively," says the article. Shia is quoted:

"Look, you're on the set for six months, with someone who's rooting to be attracted to you, and you're rooting to be attracted to them. I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen."

And as for whether she was with Brian Austin Green at the time, here's an excerpt from the article:

"I don't know, man. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. . . ." — repeating the phrase exactly 12 times with various intonations, as if trying to get it just right. Finally, he says, "It was what it was."

Last week, Shia LaBeouf made some borderline disrespectful comments to the Los Angeles Times about Transformers series director Michael Bay and how he (Bay) treated Megan Fox during filming. His statements included:

"Michael, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women. Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. ... there was no time for fluffy talk. ... And the one thing Mike lacks is tact.”

Now, LaBeouf is backtracking. He told MTV:

"I love Mike; we're like brothers. And we have our bickering in public sometimes, but I love Michael. And he's still the favorite director I've ever worked for, and I would work with him again, and I'd do anything for him. ... no way was anything I was trying to say in malice or trying to attack Michael."

Bay is your favorite director, Shia? What about, you know, Steven Spielberg, who directed you in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull?
