Shia Update: Still At The Hospital, "Recovering From Extensive Hand Surgery"

Shia LaBeouf ShiaLabeouf032908.jpg This weekend, the celebrity DUI club added it's newest member: Transformers star Shia LaBeouf. The 22-year-old actor was arrested on suspicion of DUI around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday after his Ford F150 collided with another vehicle and flipped over.

LaBeouf is still in the hospital, and his publicist issued the following statement to X17online:

"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008. Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time."



Who's next on the celeb DUI list? We kind of saw this one coming!

Why do the paps keep reporting that he hit someone? His truck is OBVIOUSLY t-boned from the accident, so the report should say: He was making an illegal left turn and was hit which caused his truck to tip over. DUHHH
